This post sounds tone deaf. I watched a game where our centers played very well. Frankly the last two games in a row.

We took a step back today because Jaylen and Kemba were shooting blanks, and the vets didn't trust our rookies with the ball on double teams. Too many forced bad shots. Don't know if the outcome would have been different, but I suspect so.

I don't know if tone deaf is the right description or not but the premise of us needing or would benefit from a shooting big is true in general, just not specific to this game.

Our big 3 of Tatum, Brown, and Walker were 22 for 68.  That is about 32%.  The whole team was only 39.8% so the rest of the team was 17 for 30 I think.  The problem was not the bigs, I agree, at least not directly.

Our lack of having any real shooting in our bigs allows defenses to play a certain way against us.  They can double the shooters off screens, sag and tilt the defense when someone is isolating.  That makes things a lot harder on the shooters and is part of the reason a team shoots 39%.  But even with that, all we needed was to hit a couple more shots and we win this game.

A shooting big would help.  Better passing would help.  Hitting more than 39% of our shots would help (Tatum also missed 4 FT).  It was a tough loss.  A game we should have won and need to learn how to win

Our center position has been incredibly efficient the last two games.  It stands to reason that our deficiency is not there, but in other places, like a wing who can shoot better/get more usage, or a point guard who doesn't go 1/12.  I don't understand how yesterday's game triggers a plea for a shooting big.

I think our three centers are fine.  We get in trouble when having 2 of them on the court at the same time.  As has been stated many times we need another player with size that can shoot and help with play making.

The Kings keep losing.  They really should be looking to looking to add assets and tank to the mid lottery.  One of G Will, Romeo, or Nesmith plus a first for Barnes seems like a fair trade for both teams.  I’d push for G Will to be that guy.

I just don't see the C position as the need.   Could it be upgrades, sure.   But there is are bigger holes that need to be fixed first.

The position I keep seeing as in need is the PF spot.   Semi is fine off the bench with spot starts.   Grant Williams is fine when he is playing well, but does not have the consistency game to game yet.  I know Tatum will likely play more minutes there once Smart is back, I still rather have a guy on the Celtics that can be a consistent starter.

I think the return of Smart will fix the hole of swing/PG depth.   Langford's return could improve the deeper bench depth at the swing position (as well as improvement from Nesmith).

Young guys need to play, but the lack of vet depth is hurting this team late in the game.

We just need shooting, period. Doesn’t even need to be a big. But we don’t need a passable shooter or a streaky shooter (we already have plenty of those). We need a reliable outside shot. This team would look a lot different if Harrison Barnes or Hield or some other shooter was out there.

Agree.  Send G. Will and a first for Barnes.
