I have the feeling Harden and Durant want to join forces again but Kyrie is against it otherwise there would be reports of ongoing negotiations.

This will never happen, BUT:

What if Durant tells Kyrie to suck it up and let Harden join them, and Kyrie says "no way, I want to be traded."

Would you consider trading Kemba to the Nets for Kyrie?  Or maybe do a 3 way trade where Kyrie gets routed to New Orleans, Kemba to the Nets, and Jrue Holiday to the Celtics?
I think you have what is now 3 years of data that shows that Celtics are more successful without kyrie vs with him... so no I would not trade for him. The three team trade is a meh but if we get a pick back I would do it.

Meh? You'd rather have Kemba than Jrue Holiday?

Harden to the Nets needs to happen.  My guess is those 3 won't last half a season trying to share the ball.  And unless Houston management is drunk, the Nets will have to part with their future to get him.  It will effectively wreck the franchise - again - for at least another 5 seasons.

Philly on the other hand would concern me depending on what they would have to give up.

I agree. Rather see Harden go to the Nets.

If Simmons is the big prize in a trade by the 76ers they might be able to expand that trade with some picks/Thybulle and also turn Horford into more useful fits in Covington and Gordon.

Harden-Richardson-Covington-Harris-Embiid and Gordon 6th man would be very dangerous. That would be the first time that I would legitimately fear the 76ers.

Harden seems to be taking spoiled baby to new levels here. What exactly did Houston do to offend him so much?
He had Russell Westbrook on his team. The guy averaged a triple double. This isn’t good enough?
Holy moly. Just win. Stop complaining about not having a good enough team.
It’s become a league of infants.
Just give them gold plated diapers to play in next season.
   Ridiculous.

I cannot believe he turned down adding 2 years and 103 million to his contract.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

His Adidas contract probably made that palatable. In the grand scheme, NBA money doesn't hold up to endorsement money. Hopefully Houston doesn't cave and waits for Philly to offer up Ben Simmons.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Wonder how this makes KD and Kyrie's teammates feel, that the two co-coaches (Nash is just a figurehead) are conspiring to bring a 3rd co-coach in Harden to the Nets and working out which of them can be sent back to Houston.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

It would be pretty devastating if Ainge doesn’t try and get in on this.  Harden is under contract for multiple years. Waiting around while other teams load up on top end talent will just mean it becomes a countdown until Tatum gets up and leaves for greener pastures. Cash in on Brown and Smart and see what Houston thinks. It will be incredibly difficult for Cs should he go to Brooklyn or god forbid the 76ers. Harden/Embiid would be a nightmare.

Kevin and James have played together before. And Kyrie is actually great off the ball. Idk why people are acting like this trio wouldn't work. Hopeful thinking I guess.

I want no part of harden...NONE.  Now if we wanted a nets player or three and send different stuff to houston then we can talk.

This is the problem with the league's business model - too much power to the players.  Sucks to be a Rockets fan right now, especially one who spends their own money on tickets.

This is why Ainge's waiting and waiting does not work. Other teams are capable of loading up at any time. The problem though is how do you offer players if you are not sure you can get the deal done. You do not want a bunch of disgruntled players on your roster.

Why trade Brown and Smart? Why gut the roster for instant gratification?

Because you are trading for a top 3 player?

Because you need a real star to win championships.
