1.  Lucifer

2.  O.J. Simpson

3.  Bill Cosby

4. Rudy Giuliani

5. Lance Armstrong

Honorable mention: Jared from Subway, Mel Gibson, Kevin Spacey

But really, it’s Rudy that inspired me to start this thread.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a politician go from “universal national hero” to “scum of the earth”.

The question is, was he always evil, or did he devolve into it?  The man seems to have slid into some sort of mental illness.

Cosby should be #2.  Much bigger name than Simpson and much more beloved.  Rudy shouldn't be on the list.  Personally never thought that much of him and he really hasn't fallen that much.  Nixon should probably be in the top 5 after Armstrong.  Not that well liked but a huge fall.  Joe Paterno should be higher than any of your honorable mentions.

Nixon's gotta be up there somewhere.

Regarding Rudy, there was an interesting profile in the New Yorker about Rudy back in May. How he went from being America's Mayor, the guy that refused to let Donald Trump buy him breakfast because he was worried about impropriety, to the conspiracy theory spreading, fawning sycophant he is today, after going through a couple of divorces and his political goals, first to be President and then to be Secretary of State, eluded him. It's a fascinating read about the fall of what was once one of America's most popular politicians - and leaders, you would have to say, because during 9/11 he was definitely a leader everyone looked up to.

Some of the comments after the article are interesting. Some New Yorkers gave examples of Rudy always being who he is seen as now, a Trump-like person, and it's just that the 9/11 opportunity gave the media a hero to portray and the people who bought it drank the media koolaid.
