Imo Smart should have been on Lowry on that last play where Lowry hit the big shot coming out of the time out. Why was Kemba still on him?

The Celtics need to figure out what to do when the Raptors screen to get Kemba Walker switched on Kyle Lowry in Game 7. Tonight Boston freely gave Toronto the matchup all game, and Lowry took advantage using his size. Boston could have done adjusted to keep Marcus Smart on Lowry.

"Adjust in the middle of a game? Are you speaking Mandarin?" - Brad Stevens, probably.

the NBA really wanted a game 7.

In the "for what it's worth" column, the best thing that could happen for the NBA this season is a Celtics-Lakers finals.

Maybe we start to get a few calls.

Because Brad is a moron and is literally incapable of changing his game plan in the middle of a game, regardless of what the evidence suggests.

I feel so bad for Brad Stevens. Nice guy there is nothing to dislike about him. There just seems to be something missing. Did he need some seasoning as an assistant in the NBA before the HC gig?

That took some serious Ref management to get this to a Game 7.

I'm worried that even if we are able to win game 7, fatigue is going to play a huge role against the Heat.

Miami starters have played around 300 playoff minutes each, while our top 5 guys will have played over 400 playoff minutes at great intensity after this series. And we don't have the bench to step in, actually Miami has an advantage there being 9 guys deep (Dragic, Butler, Robinson, Crowder, Adebayo + Nunn, Herro, Iguodala and Olynyk).

I'm really sad, we committed 2 ugly turnovers at the end (brown and tatum), but how can't the refs call some fouls why they didn't blow their whistle on kemba drive in regulation??? Why overturn the call on theis? Why don't theis get the foul on his dunk? A bunch of this calls makes it harder, this series should be ended by now

He certainly did at the end of G3.

That was a coaching trainwreck.

I still can’t comprehend how you can’t challenge a non-call. They have to find a way to make that reviewable. Kemba was 10000000% fouled on his drive in their final possession in regulation. And I believe Smart was fouled by Gasol on that final play of 2OT.

Tough game. Raptors will not roll over. I thought the game was ultimately decided in the second quarter when the Celtics went up 10 and then allowed the Raptors to score 8 straight. If they instead pushed the lead up to 15 or so, I don’t believe the Raptors have enough to overcome that.

If Brad does not call out Nick Nurse and work the refs for not giving him a T it will be an opportunity lost.

Should Nurse be fined???

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Pretty much every weird call that could go against the Cs did. Smart was incredible, except he really should have hit Kemba for the wide open 3 at the end. Brown's effort was admirable, but his shot was really off. Tatum was careless and not engaged. Theis did a nice job. Kemba was flat out useless outside of a few nice passes.

It would be great if they could show the grit and come out and win on Friday. But we've already seen once this series how they respond to heartbreak.
