One of the highest basketball IQ forwards in the draft. Was between him, Horry and [undrafted player] with my last pick yesterday.

Great pick! He could defend pretty much all positions as well!

It was between Diaw, Jaren Jackson and another guy for my last pick. Diaw at 6-8 250lbs to provide combo forward play (similar to 3rd guy) or Jaren Jackson as a 6-11 combo big man.

Diaw was really tempting. His passing and all-round play is fantastic. The third guy was more of a scorer type with similar body type. I went Jackson as a stretch four who can play five if desperate in the end.

Ah, Magloire.  The guy that Peter May said that we should trade Paul Pierce for.

Quote from: Peter May
Here's a pair of trade scenarios the Celtics could explore: We know the Hornets want to get rid of Jamaal Magloire and that he wants out of New Orleans (along with everyone else on the roster). Would the Hornets package Magloire, George Lynch, and a future No. 1 for Pierce? Or for Pierce and Kendrick Perkins? The Celtics could then keep Magloire or turn around and trade him to Toronto for Eric Williams, Lamond Murray, and maybe a No. 1.

And to think we could’ve had an Eric Williams-Lamond Murray one two punch.

And probably no Ray Allen or KG a few years later...

Which means a TON of Laker Fans grinning about tying us for Banners 16-16.
Or even worse... having more than us if they beat Detroit in '08

So true.

And the FINAL nail in the coffin would've meant not getting THESE guys

So glad we kept Paul.....so glad.

That's the bizarro-world alternative timeline from hell I don't want to ever think about again.

For the 12th pick in Round 13, the Oklahoma City Thunder selects Brian Scalabrine.

We need great locker room guys, one that could push his teammates, be supportive, and be there to be in check of any tension building, and he's by far one of the best people to fill this role.

Thunder up, 'Scal.

Absolutely love Scal.

I also don't forget there was a point in time Ainge actually believed he was more than a role player and paid him that stupid contract.  Ainge did a lot of that in his early years with the Celtics.

I know, lol....same here.

As bad as KG's (and to a great extent Rondo's and GH's) injuries were I wouldn't change a thing about the last 20 years...especially with what Roy posted about the potential PP34 trade back then.

We could've very well had 40 years of ineptitude.....

Giving Blount and Scalabrine those contracts back to back years was definitely Ainge's low point here

Boris Diaw

One of the best value picks in the draft. Diaw was unbelievable in key moments. Scared of no one.
