With the 5th pick in Round 10 of the 2020 Historical Draft the Houston Rockets select:



Brook Lopez

I've been noticing that the Rockets have been making insanely good picks in the latter rounds of the draft. Brook was having an amazing year in Milwaukee this year - he has an argument for DPOY.

I don’t think anybody could rightfully argue our defense in front of Anthony Davis or Giannas, but he definitely has a claim to all defense.

I'm not saying that it's an awfully strong argument, but I think he has probably the best non AD/Giannis argument for it. He's been a massive part of that stifling Bucks defence this year (eye-popping block rate for a rather smart paint defender, and he does well in non box metrics as well).

I’d have a hard time using this year as his year, given how brutal his shooting has been

Obviously, it helps him that he plays defense next to Giannas. However, his metrics really have been off the charts this year. Statistically, he is defending at about the same level that Tatum is.

There were a few years where the Spurs were Manu’s team. He’d play like 28 minutes a night, but he’d average about 20 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. I mean, he was a monster. He was essentially [James] Harden before Harden. Harden is now the modern version of Ginobili. Manu was tough.
