I have the 6th pick.   Willing to listen to "if player A drops" talks.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen! In games like this, you need a guy willing to sacrifice his own game for others to succeed. You need an indomitable leader who can keep your volatile group of all-stars together. You need a winner. That's why with the 4th pick of the first round, the Denver Nuggets select...

...The Big Fundamental, and Mr. 5 Rings, Tim Duncan

Very solid pick.
Duncan gives you extra versatility as a PF/C hybrid as well.

Seeing the abundance of big-men taken (3 bigs and the most physically imposing wing ever), the Los Angeles Clippers have decided to buck that trend.

So with the 5th pick, the LA Clippers select... Stephen Curry! Excited to see what I can do with the greatest shooter ever (and only unanimous MVP, don't forget!)

So our top 5 was the same , I was wondering how far would a PG with arguably the highest peak of all time for his position would drop tbh lol (half expected him to fall to the 7-11 range).

Slightly higher than what I had him at, but still a great pick regardless. His 2016 season was legendary.

Definitely understandable, but I couldn't not take him to be honest. The way efficiency is preached in the modern game alongside the ability to space the floor and play in the pick and roll (basically Curry's 3 strongest suits) made him super appealing to me.

Also helps that there are heaps of stud big-men that could sneak into the second and third rounds.

Timmy was my #4 though, so darn you for that! ;D

I actually had Curry at #3, I think his 2016 and 2017 seasons (depending on how much you knock Curry's injuries in the 2016 playoffs you might prefer his 2017 iteration) were simply insane for a guard.

I never knew Steph led the league in steals.

And most of them came from playing within the defence as a sound positional defender and passable man defender with a high motor, people overstate his defensive "shortcomings" (if anything he's an above average defender at PG).

He is a terrific defender, especially in his UMVP season. IIRC, the Warriors' defense numbers declines sharply when he's not on the floor. He doesn't have the elite man defense, but he knows where to position himself, knows when and where to double, rotated well, played passing lanes, and fought through screens.

Yeah, him having multiple seasons at 2 or above kinda stood out to me. I definitely used to be too harsh on his defence (mainly because I hated how unstoppable he was), but his ability to read the passing lanes and play solid 1v1 defence and importantly work well alongside elite defenders (of which there are many in this draft pool) is why he got the nod from me.

I'm wondering who's gonna bite the bullet and take THAT guy lol.
Lol! Gotta be soon... right?
