pre-injury gordo would have dunked that.

Actually I think he was trying.  Can't outjump guys anymore.

It is what it is.  He still has plenty of other tricks in his game.

funny, my son just said gordon’s “slow, methodical” but effective style of play reminds him of jason witten, the cowboys TE. with all the elite athletes around them, it seems implausible how gordo/jason excel at what seems half the speed of everyone else. they’re always in the right spot and play perfectly fundamental ball.

I don't think Romeo played poorly, but he had nothing to show for it tonight.

In the first half he got a soft finish sent back in the trash where it belonged, but aside from that he was taking the right shots.  Just didn't happen for him.

He's just missing. Sometimes it's a game of inches...

Overall, very pleased with the half.  Kemba is still lost, but Tatum and Hayward are both playing very good ball.

Not overly concerned about Dipo hitting a flurry of tough jumpshots.  He's good, and that happens.

lost is an appropriate word for kemba lately. not sure what’s up with him but he’s not been the same player since the all-star break. possibly a lingering injury?

Looks like he's trying to do too much with the ball. He's not accustomed to being on a team with this much talent and thinks he's got to do it all sometimes.  He needs to play more off the ball with Hayward on the ball.

I'll buy your time-out argument, but this one seems flawed. Kemba played so well in the 1st half of the season that he was a starter for the All-Star game. I doubt that he suddenly forgot how to play with talented players (especially since at least one of the other most talented players has been out when he's played).

I'll assume it's the injury - something he has never really dealt with before - and hope that he gets over it soon. He is a premium talent when healthy.

Yeah, he just seems better when he goes quick and doesn't over dribble but he might still be working into game shape or  has a nagging injury...

Oh, totally - he is a lot better when he is going full speed. I do agree that Tatum has risen to the level of an All-NBA talent - something (as you mentioned) that Kemba hasn't yet seen in his career. I think the shots are still there, though - especially with Brown out. We definitely need a healthy Kemba to compete at the highest level.

The ball is jumping now and Kemba looks great!

I think he’s fine. Not everyone can score 25, some of them will have quiet nights when others are cooking.

People need to realize, since the start of February, Kemba has only played 6 games(7 after tonight) and 2 of those games have been on minutes restrictions.

His shots tend to be short. That's because he hasn't gotten his legs back. He isn't playing any different. He's just a step slower and missing shots. Once he is fully back healthy, he will return to being the All-NBA caliber guard he was to start the year.

Did Wanamaker have a hurt shoulder? He's got that pad on it now....

I don’t know but I love that he is a 93% FT shooter.

Yeah, he needs to get to the line more. I think he's like a 40% three point shooter too but doesn't shoot them much...

Giving Sabonis too much open space on those pick and rolls.  Pretty much the only thing I don't like about our defense tonight.

Probably because he gets yelled at by people here for “taking” shots that others should be shooting

Missed layup led to a 5-on-3 for the Pacers.
