end of the day, Danny and CBS won't make such a trade as they like the team the way it is.  And Robert Williams who plays a similar game to Capela will be back soon

A player like Hayward is probably who they want. Capela for Covington and Theis is a downgrade for them

I've heard this is exactly what the Rockets are looking for: a high level defensive wing who can shoot the 3. Hayward is a playmaking wing, not a great shooter or defender (although good at both). Also, for them to take Hayward, they would need to include PJ Tucker. I don't see them doing that.

Theis is a downgrade, but I think they are committing to small ball right now. Theis is a rotation big who can give them some good minutes. They could take Kanter instead.

I don't think I would give them Williams if we had to include the Memphis pick.

I'd rather trade for Eric Gordon tbh.

Help me out with your math. Hayward makes 32 million a year. Capela 15 and Nene 2.5 million. They would need about 8 million more to get it in the ball park. They need at least Tucker unless they are going to combine Rivers, House, and McLemore, which seems pretty unlikely mid-season.

Nene is only worth 2.5 million as outgoing salary. The Rockets tried to make him a human trade exception by having his salary inflated by roster incentives but the NBA basically said that salary structure was illegal. Thus Nene only counts as 2.5 in outgoing salary, hence why Hayward for Capella+Nene doesn't work.
