You cannot give an informed answer to this question without knowing the cost of keeping him. If it would have cost the Pats Tom Brady then it is a much closer call than if it would not have.

If we do it and lose Brady we lose two SB trips (one victory) and an MVP season from Brady. That’s not worth it at all.

I think any top-15 QB could get this 49ers team to a title game

Ha! Go figure.

The one stretch in the 4th quarter where they needed Jimmy G. to actually do something, he completely falters. Like I said earlier in this thread, Garoppolo's been carried by an absolutely loaded Niners team. Even Brady could have made the SB with this team.

I have no regrets with the trade. Maybe the return could have been better, but we had to make a choice and we chose Brady which has net us 2 SB appearances, 1 SB win, and 1 MVP-season from Brady.

Give Brady some better weapons and he'll be able to go on another deep playoff run next season, even at age 43.

Jimmy certainly didn't look like "the guy" when it mattered there.

missed that wide open TD pass to the guy though the endzone.  He is not very mobile .  If the line doesn't hold for the play , he is not great at making up a play on the fly ,  he doesn't show the quickness to step out of the pocket and do something else with the ball.  The KC qB avoided the rush , made a play time and time again.

KC QB - Pat Mahomes is a special kind of QB.  Dare I say in the mold of Tom Brady

I guess this is why QBs get paid so much money
