Who would believe an" Up Fake" could be so impactful but as a metaphor for growth of Jaylen's over all game it fits. His ballhandling and court vision groomed by playing USA basketball all interconnect to that simple little up fake that leads to a better shot or an "and one" .or a" blow by" and option to pass to an even better shot.
Jaylen will build on the ballhandling skills and his passing will continue its ascent.
With Jayson improving in tandem and both Hayward and Kemba  playing all around "efficient" basketball it is getting back to old school Boston Celtic basketball
We all have noticed Jaylen's change of speed another of those "Up Fake" little things that begin to pile up and make a player unguardable.
Jayson came in with such a refined skill set at his age and Jaylen with a game predicated on "raw" athletic ability.Jayson will add strength to his length and skill becoming a deadly finisher inside
Danny now has drafted two ascending wings and Marcus with his defensive genius and improving guard skillset that want to be long term Celtics.
And two All Stars that play Celtics basketball.

Robert Williams and Romeo both fell in the draft to a position that the Celtics were able to get them .Robert Williams beyond the obvious leaping ability coupled to an enormous reach has the gift of passing skills and I feel like we are sleeping on his ability to develop an outside shot.

Romeo has for a 20 year old that had no summer league growth due to surgery has shown potential now in three straight game. He has size and that elite wingspan  that makes up for a defensive lapses, disrupts passing lanes and makes him an offensive board threat

I was impressed with his ability to get over the top of screens.I watched him post up against a smaller player getting excellent position but was overlooked. This was not a rookie move, either was his second attempt put back after a offensive rebound .There was his extending  finish against a shot blocking Detroit center or getting his defender his hip at the foul line and hitting a floater in the paint.
A plus 19 on Christmas Day against the Raptors.  NOT BAD FOR 20

If Romeo and RWIII can stay healthy, very good things are coming.

Romeo needs a little time in an NBA strength and conditioning program, and RWIII to keep growing his defensive awareness and consistency. If they reach their potential, look out league.

Seems that rollie is saying Williams and Langford have lottery-level talent, but both needs some time to reach pick #3 or #6 potential (Tatum/Brown/Smart).  If they do, then yes 'best is yet to come'.

If they reach their potential it will be with another team as we won’t be able to resign them

Thanks for that translation. Romeo had ligament damage his lone season at Ohio State that had to effect his shooting and ballhandling or even the weight room. Then summer league through pre season from rehab then a a series of injuries a slip on wet spot, a sprained ankle from landing on a players foot.

Both Romeo and Williams certainly have the size and length and are surrounded by young driven players.

You might be right, but Romeo’s rookie contract is long enough that Boston has the rights in case of a possible Hayward exit, or something catastrophic.

Rob doesn’t face the same roster logjam, but his body might well be the barrier to reaching his potential.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

That is not necessarily true.  If DA thinks either are worth keeping, he will find a way to change up the roster to make it happen.

Unless something catastrophic happens to the health of the J's or Smart and Kemba. I don't see them going anywhere. 3 years from now Walker will be 30 and still close to a Max player - >$40M a year ... the two Jays will be making close to $35M a year plus Smart pushing for a new contract at $15M or more a year . There is 100% of the cap projected. Do you think Danny will be paying close to the 4-6 year vet Max to Romeo and TimeLord?
With TL we might get lucky and he makes the jump in his development right after he signs a team friendly extension but that is very unlikely.

Danny gives extensions after the 3rd year rookie contracts only to the Rondos and the Browns of the nba not fringe lottery talents like Romeo and TL.
If Romeo starts producing like Harden in his 3rd year with OKC Danny might start negotiating with him for rookie extension but Romeo would be stupid to take it if its not very close to the max.
Another point:  contracts are shorter nowadays so there will always be teams with clean Cap Sheets trying to poach the best available restricted agents and matching Romeo's signed offer might be a big problem.

All good points. Sounds like you estimate their upside lower than I do. Very fair.

I’d say that Rob has a high ceiling/low floor potential.

Maybe if Smart’s asking $$ for his next contract Is too rich for Danny’s taste he will get shipped for a stop gap big till Time Lord develops but that will put too much pressure on TL to deliver
