I watched most of it. Overall I wasn't impressed. Defense was terrible, 3Q they got badly outplayed. After a good start the first unit struggled a bit and continued to struggle when Brad mixed in Kanter, Smart, Semi and finally Wanamaker. Lots of missed shots, bad passes and as was mentioned the interior defense was terrible.
I put more weight on how the first 6 or 7 play in a game like this than I do the young guys so that's what I found disappointing - especially playing against a crap outfit like Charlotte.
That said it was a first exhibition game, the first group did have their moments and Edwards & Grant Williams both look like they're going to get consistent minutes. And Brad obviously didn't think it too important because he played his entire roster.
It does look like the chemistry is better than a year ago so that's a positive.
Other Positives-
Looking forward to watching Kemba vs watching him torch us
G. Williams
Edwards (a reserve guard who can shoot - finally!)
Negatives-
-Semi (his shooting ability is going to drive him out of the league)
-Wanamaker (stunk I thought)
-interior defense (non-existent unless you count 6'6" G Williams though he fouled a lot)
-too many turnovers (but Charlotte had even more, so - chalk it up to being a pre-season game.
Conclusion - It was a first game - and take away the rooks vs their bench - the Celtics lost the game to a lousy team. Lots of work remaining but it's nice to have some games to kick around again.
