The Congresswomen in question are AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. "Go back to where you came from" is of course one of the oldest racist tropes in the book, and makes no sense through any other lens, as 3 of the 4 Congresswomen were born in America, with Omar immigrating legally and gaining full citizenship.

This is an explicit white nationalist argument and uses the concept the Germans called herrenvolk - only the dominant ethnic group is entitled to run the government, and representation and empowerment of others is illegitimate. Note the direct contrast between these American citizens and "the people of the United States" and "our government". It's not just couched as political disagreement, it's literally saying they aren't really Americans. Blood and soil, as the Charlottesville marchers chanted.

Time to finally drop the PC crap and the willful obtuseness about the plain and obvious fact Trump is a virulent bigot and racist, as well as the phony argument that the immigration hysteria is "only about illegal immigration". It's about ethnic identity and entitlement, and always has been. This is where we are now. Decide if you're onboard with this or not because it's not going to die when Trump leaves office.

So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run, the president wrote on Twitter

Why dont they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came, he added. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you cant leave fast enough. Im sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

Apparently in reference to Omar (Somali by birth) and Tlaib (American with Pakistani parents).

Those two say their share of shameful things too, but they don't deserve to be told that it.

Taken out of context to suit your narrative...but Trump isn't wrong here...sick and tired of political correctness.

does it even matter whether he is accurate or not? he simply is vile and contemptible human being. he is a complete incompetent, filled with hatred and racism. he embarrasses the US with moments such as these.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He posted the Presidents direct twitter posts.  That was the context the President sent the message that is pretty clear in terms of direction.

And it follows the usual pattern.  Say something stupid off the top of the head.  Wait for underlings and supporters to rewrite the meaning.  Wait for news cycle to move on.

Be as sick and tired of it as you want. Im sick and tired of indecency.  I never defend the indecency I hear from Omar, Tlaib or Clintons.   Likewise I abhor indecency from Trump. Hes an abomination.  Conservatives have fantastic people in their ranks yet repubs nominate and revere this horrid man.

Im sick and tired of the endless defense of this national embarrassment.

I do understand calling out members of Congress who embrace our enemies and seem to hate American values.  Id be fine with Omar and her Jew-hating, 9/11 downplaying values going back to Somalia.  Id also be fine with Steve King and his blatant racism and white supremacy finding a sympathetic alcove in Berlin to move to.  And yes, I do find an equivalency there.

Supposedly racist or not, Im of the opinion that people who immigrate here (legally) should try to add to America, rather than tearing it down.

But does that make it fine for the President to attack these four the way he did?

Is it possible to condemn what one politician does without supporting another?

One party tends to favor corporations and the Immicrats tend to favor non-citizens over citizens these days.

Whatever your thoughts on the women Trump told this too, this is as racist as racist gets. Trump saw women of color with funny looking last names and tells them to go back to their country not realizing three of them are American born and raised.

Trump is no different than the two old ladies near Orlando, Florida who heard a McDonald's store manager talking Spanish to an employee of his and told the manager he should be speaking English and that he should go back to Mexico if he wants to speak Spanish. The man was Puertorican and American born and told the ladies such and then told their racist asses to get out of his restaurant.

Regardless of your feelings towards the progressive women, there is no justification for the President to attack them racially. Hopefully there is going to be lots of commercials by the Dems that show Trump's blatant racism and white nationalism and call him out for what he is. Maybe the non-racist section of his base will finally see what he is and decide supporting him has been a huge mistake.

For context, not that it matters a lot, Politico suggests his attack was only at Omar and Tlaib.

And, my opinion only, with Omars specific record, Im fine with that line of attack.  Her attacks on America and borderline sympathy for terrorists make her the equivalent of a sleeper cell or a double agent.

Tlaib, AOC and other persons of color? No, its not remotely fair, and its racist.

I think Pelosi is doing the right thing isolating the most radical. For every go back home commercial, there will be 10 of Omar sympathizing with terrorists.  Mainstream Dems should want no part of her, and bringing her up to attack Trump isnt helpful.
