Hard to say how seriously to take this.  Cowherd doesn't usually just throw spaghetti against the wall but it doesn't seem right that Durant is calling people and talking about next season during a playoff run.  The timing just doesn't make sense.

This is BS. I don’t think any player does this while they’re still in the playoffs. It’s unnecessary distraction and it stabs your current team in the back.

I do believe a player told him this, as this is the same rumor that's been going around.

FWIW I 100% believe these decisions are made ahead of time, even during playoff runs. Draymond was texting KD during the Finals and immediately afterwards for example.

Cowherd rarely does actual reporting, but when he does he absolutely 100% has strong sources that he believes.  That isn't to say his source isn't wrong though.

We've heard from so many trustworthy people that KD is going to the Knicks, I can't bag on Cowherd from reporting it either.

The only people saying ANYTHING different is that some of the GSW beat guys are saying KD seems to be in a better mood in the playoffs and the Warriors are more optimistic than in the past. I don't think it is a coincidence this talk is coming out when he's being declared the best player in the league by many in the media, which is fundamentally what KD really wants. He wants to be the best player in everyone's eyes.

It'll probably flip when the GSW work the Blazers without KD though.

Agree, that would be pretty shady, and Cowherd is generally a buffoon. Probably figuring to try and jump on this via all the other noise and get some clicks out of it.

That said, this is also Kevin “Burner Account” Durant, the guy who saw no issue with joining the legit best regular season team of all time after losing to them in the WCF. This is also the guy who thought that doing this would elevate him to Lebron status. So who knows what that guy is doing.
