Lakers probably wanted a clause that if Lebron left the team, Lue’s contract would automatically be voided. Haha.

Apparently they wanted to pick his assistants and only a 3 year deal. Not many coaches would go for that lol

Lol, Monty Williams took the Suns coaching job over the Lakers. That says it all.

Yes.  The Lakers offered 3 years, $18 million.

Lue wanted 5 years, and a yearly salary equal to other championship coaches.  He presumably meant closer to Pop ($11 million) and Doc ($10 million) rather than Kerr ($5 million).

Might as well throw Mike Brown into the list too. He got fired and rehired by the Cavs, it would be so funny if the Lakers rehired him again too.

I wonder if they gave him 5 years and 30 million what would have happened or 3 years like 24 million.  And I can absolutely see why Lue would want 5 years and big money.  I mean the Lakers basically have no other options and they already looked like idiots before this fiasco.

Lakers would be wise to relegate their franchise to the G league.
