until rondo killed us... it is crazy that shot could be difference between them making playoffs or not given how close west is.

The Lakers making the playoffs is in the Celtics interests. That keeps the Kings in the Lotto.

had not thought of that.....god its hard to think about cheering for a LA victory .....seems like devil worship

Not cheering for the Lakers at all just keeping an eye on that Kings pick!
you're missing the impact on the Clips pick.  if the lakers make the playoffs, it's because they pushed out the Clips and would cost us that pick.  it's unlikely the Clips make a run at the playoffs next year so we wouldn't get a first rounder next year either and then end up with just a second rounder

Did you miss that the clippers just went into tank-mode?

They are going to get passed by several teams. It’s better for us if the Lakers make it and get trounced by the Warriors than the Kings. Both teams are going to comfortably pass the Clippers.

I think there’s a good chance the Clippers can get Kawhi and help this summer, which would be enough to make the playoffs next year.
I'm not sure I'd completely write the Clippers off.  They still have a pretty deep team.  Lost top end talent, but can go 2 or 3 deep at every position, and a team like that can actually win a fair amount of regular season games.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

they could very well drop out of the playoffs but until they do, I'm rooting for them to make it.  Personally, I don't see them landing a FA of any consequence next year or really any year in the near future

I don't think we'll know until the end of the season who the biggest winners and losers are.

For example, if the Celts get bounced in the 2nd round, guess what?

We could be the biggest losers...because Kyrie might get frustrated and want to go elsewhere which means bye-bye to Anthony Davis.

At this point, I guess we can only project

I don't think making a trade to improve our roster for the here and now would've been a bad idea, but I guess Danny knows best.
