Thoughts of 1st preseason game

At a high level, the first 18 minutes were good, thru 6:00 to go in the 2nd. 

We dropped 49 in 1.5 quarters and at 49-29, were up 20.

Then it went downhill, awful 3rd quarter, and we played scrubs vs their legit guys in the 4th.

Way too hasty, knee jerk personnel reactions to 1 fake game:

-Hayward will likely need time to return to form.
-Will we miss Baynes in the starting lineup?
-Tatum is capable of being a #2 option on a finals team.
-I don’t want to rely on Semi or Wanamaker for minutes.
-Williams has the potential to be in the 10 man rotation by February.

I was impressed most by Williams. esp. considering he didn't look like the guy I heard all these bad things about. he looked engaged, seemed like he wanted to be out there and I believe saw him calling out switches or directing someone else where to go.

only thing I didn't like about Williams was him grabbing at his shorts not even a min into the 4th. I could see maybe 4 mins. into the qrtr. but they just came back from a huge commercial break because of the start of the 4th.

so maybe that's that bad motor we heard about or he just needs to work on that stamina.

Lemon was the other highlight for me.

Yeah, Williams looked like an NBA Player. He looks like he can play some minutes this year. Boy is he fast, big and strong....

Rozier looks ready, along with many others. Hayward looks rusty and unsure of himself. Kyrie looked like Kyrie.

The pleasant surprise for me was Robert Williams. Just as others have said, big, strong, long and fast. He may develop in something.

The end of the bench...ugly. Showed little improvement.

Tatum looked pretty bad last night.

IMO, Williams was the story of the night, and it’s not even close.  He looked better than I thought he might.  Excellent defender, had a nice swipe at a ball leading to a turnover.  Excellent passer. 
Good shooting form. Comfortable in his body.  Confident.  I’m impressed.
