An (unfounded) criticism is that he doesn’t like basketball enough and has too many other interests.  It’s absurd.  He clearly loves the game and will play anytime and anywhere.

Amen. We are talking about a guy who would be a vegan if he didn't play basketball, he only eats meat occasionally for the energy (sure there is a term for it but I don't remember atm) it gives him during a season. The same guy that impressed CBS during his rookie workout by having a blended drink on hand while other guys were just having the normal sports drinks/water. From his own mouth, he follows how Kobe worked (everyone knows the crazy work Kobe put in by following MJ).
