melo has always sucked, still sucks and will forever suck.

just because espn says someone's good doesn't mean they are.

the best thing to happen in melo's career is KG tellin him his "wife tastes like honey nut cheerios". he should've retired after that.

If he is willing to come off the bench in Boston is he worth taking a shot on?
But that’s the issue, he isn’t willing to come off the bench or change his game for the good of the team.

Marcus Morris is better right now.

Taking defense into consideration, I think this is true.

I can't think of any reason why that would be a good idea.

Melo would just join GS and back up Durant.

He isn't getting bought out. Westbrook and George reportedly both like him and the Thunder have no way to replace him and they are already very thin.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Melo off the bench with the right coach would be dynamic.

No way.  Jason Tatum will be a significantly better player than Melo in the upcoming season.  Tatum is a two way player and stretches the D with a true deep threat 43.4% from deep in 2017 vs Melo's 35.7%.

In fact, even in his rookie season, advanced stats such as VORP, BPM, and Win Shares ALL liked Tatum better than Melo last season!!

Melo VORP -1.1, BPM -3.8, WS 3.7

Tatum VORP +1.8, BPM 1.0, WS 7.1

Trust me, Tatum is going to blow away Melo in his sophmore season!

Why on earth would you want to give Tatum's minutes to an inferior Melo?

I am also against bringing in Melo, but no one is suggesting giving Tatum's minutes to Melo. I suspect that the idea would be to give Morris' minutes to Melo. We have seen that Brad does not like to play anyone much more than 30 or so minutes per game, and I suspect that Tatum will be right around that mark regardless of who else is on the roster.

I am against Melo because he doesn't play good defense and has made it clear that he is not willing to come off the bench or change his game for the good of the team. He simply does not have the right attitude and we should not bring in someone like that.
