His character is in question until proven otherwise.  We'll see...

Why not give him the benefit of the doubt?

He impressed me in his first PC as a thoughtful kid with supportive but tough parents, who stayed in school because they thought he wasn't mature enough.

I'm sure he'll get some time in Maine, but hopefully also some occasional run with the big kids.  Looking forward to seeing him throw down.
better yet, let's wait and see how he behaves.

geez, sometimes i think 90 per cent of my posts here are "let's wait and see".  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

While his jumper obviously needs work, is Williams, as of right now, really incapable of doing everything else that you've listed?

He will show flashes in all of these areas, including his jumpshot, but they will all be inconsistent.

The nuances of defensive positioning might take time. One play he might have an amazing switch on to a guard, force them into a fall away long 2, and then block it, but then the next play he might lose his man for an easy two.

The nuances and feel of the pick-and-roll (something Horford is the best in the game at) will be difficult too, because he just didn't have the reps as Texas AM. He'll need to learn the speed at which to set a screen, when to re-screen the other side, when to fade, when to dive hard, and how to do all of that without getting offensive fouls.

Luckily, every time he sets a screen for someone, that person will be a high-level offensive threat, from Kyrie to Hayward to Rozier to Tatum. That means the defense will focus more on the ball-handler than him. He might look really good because he won't command as much attention as others.

Not incapable...I meant to be a consistent plus in those areas.

A progression, of you will.

Oh I agree, it's just that I misinterpreted (I think) the list, as it almost sounded as if the coaching staff was, for all intents and purposes, going to have to create a basketball player in a lab, if that makes any sense, lol ;D, hence my concern.

Ahh, okay. Sorry about that. I guess that it almost sounded as if Williams was learning the game for the first time as opposed to, say, refining his skills. My mistake :).
