This may be one reason that Tatum and other young guys have performed above their years of experience, the confidence given to them by being treated as an equal instead of being treated like crap, or in some cases bordering on criminal would kill most kids confidence or create animosity within the group.

It isn't a coincidence that each guy in the group works so hard for each other and they are so close, this is the core philosophy for their next guy up mentality. If Tatum had his apartment filled with popcorn or his car vandalised by Marcus Morris not only does it kill his self-esteem but he is less likely to want to communicate with Morris on the floor or work on help defence for Morris ect.

I made a post a while back complaining that the Celtics do a poor job of finding the hot hand in games and that that's a problem. But now I'm rethinking that.

I think it's not about not finding the hot hand, it's about literally taking the game one possession at a time and always working for the best shot no matter what happened last possession of the possession before it. That can mean going away from someone who's on a roll some time but I think that dedication to staying focused on what's in front of you and making the right play right now and then moving on is a big reason why this team has been able to shake off so many injuries and just keep plugging along.

Bill Simmons revealed on 'The Lowe Post' that "Brad Stevens doesn't allow rookie hazing, he wants rookies to be empowered".

This may be one reason that Tatum and other young guys have performed above their years of experience, the confidence given to them by being treated as an equal instead of being treated like crap, or in some cases bordering on criminal would kill most kids confidence or create animosity within the group.
Whatever that's supposed to mean. Also, given that there are barely any veterans on this team, I doubt that too much hazing would be taking place either way.

Stevens is the leader of the team. Not all coaches fill this role. KG was the leader while Doc was the coach...heck knows what that means in Cleveland, but, the Celtics are Stevens team in all aspects including hazing or anything else.

The piece that Zach Lowe wrote about the Celtics' toughness recently mentioned when Jaylen Brown's car got filled with popcorn last year and that Brad really didn't like that. That's the kind of stuff they're talking about.
