I hope people stop talking about how we do not stand a chance against GSW should we make it to the final and play them.

I believe the Cs can beat GSW in a 7 game series.

I am positively surprised by our performance in two H2H games. We switch, we shoot a lot of threes and we defend. We also have a guy that can match Curry when he goes off just like in the last game. Something only a handful of teams have.
However, without a consistent wing scorer, we can't expect to outscore them in the long run.

If we have Hayward we definitely stand a chance in a 7 game series - in fact, I think we have a definite shot considering the improvements Brown and Tatum will undergo. Not to mention our potential high pick this year or next.

This team was definitely assembled to unseat Golden State and dominate for years to come.

I like our chances.

I don't like the fact that neither Terry or Kyrie can fight through Green or Zaza to keep up with Curry, and that Horford/Morris act like statues when they get a switch.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Boston matches up pretty well against GS with the speed and athleticism on the perimeter along with the generally good shooting.  In an actual series though, I don't think Boston's offense can sustain itself long enough to actually win more than a game.  Now with Hayward it is a much more interesting series, but right now the offense is basically Irving and that can be slowed, if not stopped, in the playoffs.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

This team just went against a full-strength Warriors team and gave them hell !!!!

... and we did that with an All-Star sidelined and our best perimeter defender.

I do believe we match up great vs the GSW especially if all things line up and we get Evans and Hayward.

With this current team I do not know if the C's win more then 1-2 games.  Marcus was missed guarding Curry but the playoffs are different.  Players take their play to a whole new level.  If Hayward was healthy I would think differently.  If the C's pick up a Tyreke Evans for the 2nd unit it will also change my mind.  The C's need another scorer badly.  They also need Tatum to push through this slump.  With being a new dad and playing more games then ever he is really struggling physically.

The C's showed they can hang in the regular season but Golden State takes it to another level in the playoffs.  The C's need more firepower.  They need someone who can get their own buckets and play D.  That is why I am so high on Tyreke on this team.  Perfect fit.

Even if we don't get Hayward back, IF we land Tyreke + Chandler/Monroe, I could see us taking GSW to 6 games (in a series loss), but I certainly feel confident we can take CLE to the brink, and maybe even win the series. Though it obviously depends if the Cavaliers make any trades and who they trade for, along with how Isaiah does by April.

This year is fun to watch and I really like what DA has put together with this team. Being realistic next season is the year to start talking about competing with the Warriors.

This season without Hayward i think this roster can take Lebron to 6 games and make things hard on him. With Hayward at 75% they have a shooters chance of taking down the Cavs.

As good as this team players vs GS they will be hard pressed to win 2 games this year with a 75% healthy Hayward.

However next season with a healthy Hayward, a hopefully bulked up and further developed Tatum, and another year of development for Brown this team could be the warriors biggest threat.

When you look at both teams projected end of the game rotations you end up with the following

Irving      vs Curry
Brown     vs Thompson
Hayward vs IG
Tatum     vs Durant
Horford   vs Green

Looking at the match-ups Irving and Curry should be a wash, I would taken the combo of Brown + Hayward over an aging IG and Thompson, Durant is going to take the match up with Tatum. Al vs Green should be a wash given Greens regression shooting the ball. With all that said I would say the series comes down to Tatum and the bench. If they can combine to match Durant and GS bench then the Cs make it a series.

I wouldn't expect Boston to win a series vs Golden State this year, but I do believe it would be a very competitive series.

As it stands currently, I'd give us about even odds at making it to the Finals.  I expect we'll wind up as the #1 seed and likely face either Cleveland or Toronto in the ECF.  Boston can definitely beat either of those teams.
