With Tatum’s height and abilities, does anyone think he eventually winds up as an athletic 4 when he fills out?  I realize the C’s play ‘positionless’ but I could see a lineup that has Irving, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, and Horford all on the court at the same time.

Danny prob would have been thrilled if they drafted Wiggins, and I'm sure he's thrilled that he got Tatum.

It's hard for the Celtics haters to take Wiggins over Tatum. It appears that Tatum is a best shooter and offensive player. I think Wiggins might have more lateral quickness on D.

I love how Tatum extends his arms to get shots off. He's plays longer than I thought.

Tatum is already light years better than Wiggins defensively. Wiggins really is clueless on that end.

Same with Towns.

Funny thing is, EVERYBODY was raving about that draft class - and Danny Ainge was probably the one and only guy who came out and said that the draft class was pretty average, and that he didn't think that there was a single "transcendent" player in that draft.

Boy, did he nail it with that analysis.  Wiggins and Parker are both solid, but nowhere near as good as people hailed them to be.  Gordon has developed into a better player then I expected, but still nothing special.  Embiid is without a doubt the most talented player in the draft, but who knows if he'll ever truly be healthy enough to dominate the way he has the potential to.

If I remember correctly, didn't he say Embiid was the only one with transcendental talent? He wanted to draft Embiid and tried to see if we could move up to nab the 2nd or 3rd pick.

Okay so no one here would trade Tatum for Wiggins.

But would you trade Brown for Wiggins? Have to think about it right?

And, would you trade Tatum for Towns?  Ask me at the start of the season, I’d say of course. Now, I’m not sure.
Wiggins sucks you cannot believe how much hate he gets on Wolves forums.

wiggins is young supersatr to be Jeff Geen all over .  Every gift ....NBA body delux.....but personality wise the " it " gene or the KG /Kobe  gene is missing totally.

He has that hesitation in his game ,  to let it all hang out be in your face every play.

Jeff Wiggins

Ummm....you could see it, because you have. That was the starting lineup the first game of the season....

I don’t. It’s Brown, hands down. He’s a “Swiss Army Knife”, a stopper you can run offense through, a triple threat and owner of perhaps the quickest reflexes in the league. (He’s also the perfect wing complement for Tatum.)

Tatum is much better than Wiggins. Wiggins is a below average player who is wildly overpaid. Wiggins is a poor defender and inefficient scorer with a below average PER and an above average usage rate. Tatum’s a very rare rookie and I believe has the makings of a perennial all-star. Basketball-Reference.com player comparison link for 2017-18 is below and it is very one-sided for Tatum.

Brown > Wiggins too,

OTOH, you have to take Towns over Tatum if for no other reason than a height premium. Towns has very good numbers too and should be a multi-year all-star too.

Absolutely.  I was so wrong about Tatum.  Of course I didnt get that he was basically 7 feet.  Imagine if he was actually athletic.
He is pretty athletic, just needs to take it to "NBA athletic" level which I'm sure he will do by next season.

I wouldn't because I like guys who play like they care and have heart.   Wiggins has not demonstrated that at any level.

It was pretty telling when the Wolves owner told the media that he wanted to have a meeting with Wiggins before giving him the extension- to basically tell him that he has to keep working hard and improving in order to earn the contract.  He had to make it clear that the contract was for what he could become, not what he already was.  In other words, he made it clear that he was worried that Wiggins would coast after getting paid.  Looks like his worries were justified.
