Ughhh, more of this stuff. Pitino is no saint, but it's not like he killed anybody and the pressure has got to be through the roof.
Almost every team now has a G-League affiliate (get with it Nuggets, Pelicans, and Blazers!!). At some point, these top recruits should just be drafted out of high school and skip the college process altogether. This won't cancel college basketball, but it should alleviate some of the pressure to get the best players in the country to come to your school. It would, however, bring down revenue, but that seems reasonable given the current climate.
Even if players drafted out of high school aren't allowed to play for the parent club for a year (current rule), they can still begin to develop within their current team's coaching structure. An added bonus would be that the G-League would become more of a draw and player salaries may even reach a semi-livable level.
