You are a fantastic human being, KGLL.  J-Bone makes a good point, too -- LarBrd is killing it on these other platforms.  I recently read on the darkweb that he is now the majority owner of Reddit.

With regard to the thread topic...  Does any one remember when rap was cool?  My favorite era was the 90s.  Rappers were so talented, they talked about meaningful things, they were competitive (to the point of murdering one another, unfortunately), and just... cool.  They were hard.  I feel like the NBA has changed in the same way -- from cool to corny.  Kyrie is dancing around like he's high on fairy dust in the same way that rappers talk about DMs and candy shops.

Lol this guy.

You would rather see the C's lose without him, than win with him.

It is kind of sad, really. Like Kyrie stole your shoes when you were little or something.

But hey, if you prefer IT over Kyrie on your team, which literally no GM, and probably 10% of players would agree with, go ahead.

Some people like not winning it all. and that is fine.

Nothing to do with basketball (honestly).  I really have thought of that analogy many times before.  Pop culture has changed dramatically in entertainment and sports.  I wonder if all generations glamorize their past and find the upcoming generation somehow "less."

And if you didn't laugh at the "high on fairy dust" comment, Idk what to tell ya.  That's pure interweb gold.

I can agree on the pop culture aspect, and found no humor in the dairy dust.
Always gotta drag Kyrie through the mud.

Nah.  The thread's about Kyrie, but I think this is just a general trend.  Guys seem more invested in their own brands and show less competitive spirit (and downright animosity) towards one another.  I enjoyed that aspect.  I feel old just writing this tho.

That is true.

You will be wrong about Kyrie though.

He is A1.

Time will prove me right, and the meantime will be painful.

The only question is, will you be the dude who still insists IT is a 6th man, or not.....

I meant to say the opposite of "animosity" from before.  I hope you're right about that.  I liked the NBA more in the past, regardless.

Did I insist that IT is a 6th man?  I honestly don't remember that.

You keep missing the point. Quite intentionally, I might add.

Your posts have the same tone of people who, to this day. disrespect Isaiah. You loved Isaiah, but you are doing to Kyrie, what many people did to IT.

You are a smart person, so if you keep misrepresenting my analogy, it will be clear you are doing it intentionally.

I don't disrespect Kyrie Irving.  I'm disappointed that he has become the Celtics' "star" for the foreseeable future.  I acknowledge that he's a great basketball player.  Despite the overpay, I also think we probably won the trade long-term.  He's just a lot more "branded" and celebrity-invested than the Celtics have had historically, and I greatly appreciated the hard-nosed Celts of the past.

My biggest peeve is that a lot of folks like that aspect of him so much that there's a lack of an objective perception of how he is currently performing, and where his place is among the history of great Celtic players.  I think it also skews their vision of what IT actually accomplished for the Celtics -- his fingerprint on this franchise will benefit the Celtics for years to come.  And I genuinely hope Kyrie does the same.

why lie about this?

calling him Kyrina Irving is your way of being respectful???

I get that you hate the guy, but why do you every now and then pretend that you like him. You hate him. It is what it is.

Dont pretend you like him then call him Kyrina Irving, come to a thread about his handle being filthy(and its arguably the GOAT handle) and comment that he does pointless moves, then say hes a "game manager" then pretend its a compliment, then ask "Do we have a go-to scorer?" as if its some innocent question and not a clear shot at Kyrie.

You hate him. Its OK. Dont pretend you dont.

I appreciate your questions, and I'm glad to respond.  But you can't cut out 2 paragraphs of text and expect a serious response.

In an effort to conduce that: I don't lack respect for Kyrie as a human being, I would just prefer players that embody the same hootspa of Celtics past.  Is that such a crazy preference?

Can you expand on this.

It seems to me, in your previous post that you suggested you hate him because he has been highly touted his whole career(#1 pick etc etc) and is such a famous player. He doesn't have the endearing underdog story etc etc.

Am I correct? Could you try to nail down for me exactly why you hate Kyrie Irving.

I mean a lot of these claims seem really really empty.

" I acknowledge that he's a great basketball player." --> You called him a game manager and asked if we had a go-to scorer ~24 hours ago.

"Despite the overpay, I also think we probably won the trade long-term." --> This doesnt make sense. If you win the trade, then you didnt overpay. I suppose you can stretch it that situationally it made sense and thus we win, but it was a bad value proposition, but thats honestly a stretch.

" He's just a lot more "branded" and celebrity-invested than the Celtics have had historically, and I greatly appreciated the hard-nosed Celts of the past." --> this is such a soft criticism. Like really? youve been non-stop ripping the guy and Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ting on him because he is "branded"? It just reeks of an excuse to hate a guy.
