Complimentary on his defense"could be the one of the better defenders around"
That comfortability and confidence will spill over into his three point shooting.
The Brown/Tatum defense have really improved  the celtics stats and its not a fluke
Brown,Semmi,Smart is some serious strength and defensive lateral agility.
Semmi is just a rookie and getting burn time like that against THE SPURS and Pop.It speaks volumes  for future potential
Whatever doubters there are have seen him go up against some all time greats and some going to be.
Theis is such a positive surprise offensively, his pic and roll a real threat in small ball lineup. As is his deceptive length. His experience and hustle on offensive boards reminds me of first year jerebko -
Brad must be buzzin having some shot blockers in Theis,Tatum and Baynes. With Horford playing some of his best basketball-Brad allowing Horford as he seems to love  bringing the ball up court and that spin move or going coast to coast in last game.Looks like Horford is having fun.

To me i saw all sorts of Kyrie influence  in teams dribbling skills (marcus/Rozier)

A very nice win as the team shows it is settling in
Tatum at 19 years old picks up 10 rebounds and his blocks
Brown is going to be a lock down defender,Semmi a boulder on defense and then throw in Marcus or Rozier -and this is with no Marcus Morris

Still high on Nader?   You don't mention him.   I actually cringe when he gets in the game.

I agree with your other points.

Last year Young made Nader look like an improvement-we now have shooters/defenders and that is without Hayward.I also stated that Semmi jumped ahead of Nader as a prospect long ago.
There were several posters that took my posting of his stats in d league that i thought he would be an all star at this level-i didn't think anything more than a deep bench player replacing Young
He is here and Bentil,Mickey, jackson, young ,RJ are not .i quess my point was made.

Nader still has 7-1 wingspan ,can hit a three 37% and has almost ambidextrous ability at rim.He is a bench guy ,drafted late, worked hard ,gave up money
-His miss from three was a forced heave due to time clock, his score showed his length on follow up but the drive and kick cringe worthy was that with clock running down again.

I don't know if I'm "high on" him, but I think that he's an NBA player. On top of good length and movement he has a repertoire of finishing moves and shots in the paint, and he's especially quick with the ball.  His length and laterals and spring bode well for his defensive potential. He has three-point range.

I actually cringe when he gets in the game.

I don't. In fact, I enjoy watching him and root for him. Unfortunately for him, he's got a couple of prodigies in front of him. I think that he's got a future in the league, maybe as a starter, but likely not on the Celtics.

Cant stand Nader. Wanted to cut him out of SL. Want him entirely out of the rotation now.

Can always tell a Rollie post before clicking it by the title. It's become a bit of a game for me now to guess who the OP of a thread is by the title.

I'll take Rollie thread for 200 Tommy Points Alex

Complimentary on his defense"could be the best around"

Brad didn't go quite that far - he said he could be one of the better defenders around.  But your point is well taken. The job he did on Rudy Gay and even on Dejounte was well done indeed.

That comfortability and confidence will spill over into his three point shooting.

Brad acknowledged the corner three and the finish (through contact!) in the lane, as well as Semi's getting to the line. But that was all by way of saying that he's in there for his defense. Mostly on offense he's spotting up to spread the floor.

Brown,Semmi,Smart is some serious strength and defensive lateral agility.

22 minutes in the game raised him to 9th on the team in per-game minutes. The return of Morris, we can assume, will cut back his minutes.  But he's been making his case for being a rotation player, and other opportunities will open up as the season goes on.

Whatever doubters there are have seen him go up against some all time greats and some going to be.

Next up: Carmelo.  Donovan has a weird rotation arrangement for him: he plays every quarter, but each quarter with a break somewhere in the middle - so he starts and finishes every single quarter! Just because of that there's a strong likelihood that Semi will get extended minutes on him.

Theis is such a positive surprise offensively, his pic and roll a real threat in small ball lineup.

Like Horford, he can also pick and pop.

You have your wish - he's not in the rotation.

I think that one of Brad Stevens' strengths is managing minutes. He keeps starters fresh, while also  finding developmental minutes for younger players. The coach has to put up with some substandard production, when it comes to younger players, in order to reap dividends later on.

Over the years I have been a little upset when some people I liked didn't get a chance, but I have changed my opinion on that because there have been too many guys, at this point, proving CBS right that they didn't deserve a chance! If these guys can't even stick on the end of the bench on the crappiest teams then they just aren't good enough! I already thought that CBS was smarter and new way more than I will ever know about the game but I let my emotions and dreams get the best of me. He gives players who can play minutes, he hasn't given one player minutes "just because!" That dude knows what he is doing!!

Semi is getting minutes because he has earned them, he doesn't HAVE to play him. Yes, he may lose mins to Morris but that's because he is a lot better than Semi at other things, not because Semi hasn't earned a few mins here and there.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
