that team with Bynum, Gasol, Odom, and Kobe. I was almost envious of their length. Now we have Horford, Tatum, Heyward, Baynes, Morris, Theis, so much length. I can now watch a Celtics game without concern that Celtics will struggle against another teams length. Let them worry about the C's length.

Well, if a team has length, you still have to play against them while they defend you so doesn't teams with length still worry you?

I don't get it. If another team has length, they are still going to give you problems defensively, regardless of your length. The only thing length gives you is better defense if your team is a good defensive team. Length doesn't necessarily help offense or rebounding.

I disagree basketball is still a tall person's game. There is a reason that Laker team won two championships and almost broke a playoff record in wins. You cannot coach size or length. There is a reason teams measure players.

It's nuts how that Lakers squad, when healthy, seemed almost unbeatable as recently as 2011 -- just 6 years ago.

Yet, now, the idea of putting together a team that huge and that reliant on isolation play seems unthinkable.

Hmm... Do you think last season Warriors team could beat the '09 or '10 Lakers title teams?

I think it's a good topic.  I think lack of length was an underlying issue the last couple of years, and we have definitely improved in that area.

But I wouldn't go so far as to say the Celtics are an especially long team.  Probably around average (or even below considering Al is our center).  That la team, on the other hand, was very long.

I don't think it would be especially close.  The Warriors of the past few years -- even the 2015 team -- are all-time great teams, whereas those Lakers teams were somewhat weak title teams.

After all, if not for a KG knee injury in 09 and a Perk knee injury in 10, the Celts probably would have won those titles.
