Simmons can't shoot like Tatum, they are both good with the ball
Tatum's mid range is just breath taking and his defense has been under estimated.
To me it comes down to tatums outside and mid range game over Simmons getting to the hoop and passing
Then its shooting again -imagine last few minutes 7th game for ECF who do you want at the foul line
The other two have shooting problems and Lavar no mid range and struggles getting his three off and Fultz can't shoot a foul shot and has lost his outside shot.Confidence is all important but to alter your shot during rookie season is going to shake Fultz to his core

Tatum,Brown and the new Marcus are on there way to possibly being the fourth star

Big Six!

I would also totally take Brown & Tatum over Ingram & Ball and Simmons & Fultz.

What's missing out of this is that we also got a lotto pick on top of getting the better player. I wish we could revisit the freak out at the time it happened. A lot of people would be embarrassed for doubting Danny... sometimes over and over again. Just close your eyes and enjoy the ride. He knows more about being a GM than all of us combined.

If I had to choose I would probably take Simmons/Fultz but time will tell.

When posed as a question of whether or not Tatum is a better scorer than Ben Simmons, sure. I'd take Simmons 10/10 times as a prospect, though.

Just look at how many games both Simmons and Fultz lost in college. Put them together, the Sixers should be able to lock up a top 3 draft pick by December!
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I thought Simmons looked terrific last night even without the shooting.  He is that very rare guy with size who can pass, handle, get to the hoop, and maybe eventually shoot.  He is man-sized at 21 where Tatum still has the youthful body.  Perhaps Jayson will widen and strengthen and still maintain his grace and his shot. If so, he'll be a superstar.  Simmons looks like a guy who will very soon be the best (or among the best) guy on the court.  Going to be scary if he and Embiid are healthy.  Fultz... who knows?

Hope you are right about Ball.  We know LAL will pick up a superstar or 2 over the next year or 2, so I hope neither Ball nor Ingram rise to star level talent.  I know nothing about Ingram, but I fear that Lonzo's size, court vision, passing skill, and ability to get to the hoop, will make him a star.  Hope I'm wrong -- I don't want to see another banner in LA in my lifetime.

Realistically, what ast/TO ratio do you think you guys could hit in a single game given NBA athleticism? I've never been a shooter, so I have always had an advantage at passing at both levels. I think realistically I could hit 3 assists for 4 turnovers given any preseason game (or that ratio. Given the difficulty of NBA defenses.)

Simmons is also 1 year and 8 months older than Tatum, his body should be filled out more.

I'm also wondering why you would think as Tatum puts on more mass his jumpshot would go away?  How often does that actually happen?  I'd guess not very often.

Simmons has a great handle, excellent passing ability, and uncanny court vision/awareness for a big his age (or any age).  Tatum has a refined scoring ability that very few players his age ever have.  They both have skills that are already elite.  I'm inclined to think that Tatum has a more realistic chance of improving on his weaknesses, though.  I'm not so sure Simmons will ever fix that jumpshot, he's a terrible free throw shooter which tends to be a telling sign in that regard.

Simmons may have a slightly higher ceiling, but Tatum stands a greater chance of reaching his.

I don't think he'd lose his jump shot with added size.  I was comparing Simmons and Tatum. With his size and skills, Simmons would be unstoppable if he develops his shot.  To match Simmons, Tatum would need added strength and size while maintaining his shot (and you're right -- he probably would).

Realistically, 0 assists and 5 turnovers which all lead to dunks within 30 seconds.  I would be rightfully fired as well as multiple scouts within a minute.

I have different standards for actual NBA players' performances than myself.
