Just a bit of a warning.

I have followed Hayward/Jazz for the last 7 years. Literally watched every game on NBA LP.

As good as Hayward has become , he usually starts slow (like thru December)

Then he turns it on....We'll see how he does in Boston.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I see by your registration date of Oct. 2013 that you didn't just come here for Gordon Hayward, but because, at one point, the Celtics interested you...although that was a pretty rough time to jump on the Cs bandwagon.

Thanks for the heads-up and TP - hopefully this season is everything you want it to be from the Cs perspective as I can't imagine the Jazz are going to make much headway in the West.

It will be very interesting. Especially considering we only have 4 players from last seasons roster (barring any more moves), the start to the year could be quite a wild time indeed.

In spite of that, I feel as though our coaching and playing personnel are both amazing and will make this team work.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I expect the whole team to start slow, because of all the new personnel, its basically a whole new team. Plus, Stevens experiments with lineup combinations a lot early in the season, which results in some rough moments. I expect he will experiment even more early on this season.

I expect some growing pains. If the team is clicking in May, I'll be happy.

The data back you up on this, both for his career and in recent seasons. November is the month with his worst shooting percentages and almost his lowest scoring average. Lowest assists too.

The good news is, his best month historically has been April, and his playoff numbers (which are really limited to one season) are equal to or better than his season averages - which is impressive, as has been discussed here before, because he's playing against better competition.

I guess if I had to pick, I'd take this over the guy who starts fast and flames out.

TP for the observation.
