I will bet that after this fiasco is finished if the league doesn't do a rule change then future trades will turn into the same type of circus. Most likely the Cavs get away with this because of King Lebron. It is not good for basketball IMO but puts all of the teams and players laundry out for inspection.
What ever happened to an agreement, handshake and move on with your new stuff?
Get away with what? The deal isn't done until it's done.
This deal isn't done yet.
Do you really believe that this strategy of asking for more after an agreement has been reached and the league has approved a trade isn't going to impact some or even many future trades? Unless Danny did something sneaky and got caught ( we haven't seen proof of that) then this is a clear cut case of someone having second thoughts after the deal was done.
What good is an agreement and league approval if teams can change their minds after the fact? If you aren't sure then don't agree or go public until you make up your mind. Where do you draw the line that a deal is final?
Do you think this is a case of pre mature press release lol?
Except the deal wasn't done. If agreement and league approval was all that mattered, we would't have a medical examination.
if the deal wasnt done, why did the NBA welcome kyrie to boston?

There are multiple steps, and it is true that the deal isn't completed until each team completes the physical of their new players, and physicals aren't performed by new teams until a trade had officially been agreed to.
I'm not sure there is an easy way around it; imagine if all physicals had to be done before submitting the trade to the league; players would be going all over to get physicals for many potential deals that would fall through.
I think the best way around it would be for both teams to clarify any expectations and injury knowledge to the league at the time of the trade. Then, after each team does their physicals, they have the right to raise any surprises or discrepancies with the league. Then, if the league, with their own independent medical advisors, agrees that there was an unexpected finding or significant discrepancy, the team can choose to void the trade and the teams can re-negotiate.
In this case, it would have worked like this:
Cle+Bos call the league, and say that, pending physicals, they are agreeing to swap Zizic, Crowder, IT, BKN 1st for Kyrie. Both teams acknowledge that IT has a hip injury; he has a chronic component and an acute component, his recovery is in stage X, his general prognosis is Y. League says OK.
Boston then does a physical on Kyrie, it's fine. Cle does their physicals, now there are rumors of discontent. I would say, in my new proposal, that in order to have a chance to void the trade, Cle would have to submit (with their team doctors) the findings and justification for why their opinions are significantly different from what was said to the league at the time of the trade. Silver and his medical advisors would then decide if they had any legitimate reason to have such a different opinion. If they agree, Cleveland has the option to void the trade. If Silver and his advisors disagree, the no option to void the trade.
