Anyone following the Red Claws this year? If so, would it be fair to say PJ Dozier and Gerald Green share similar playing styles and physical attributes?
Physically, they look similar....Dozier seems to be better at attacking the hoop than Green. Yet, he's a lot weaker...wondered if that would hurt him on defense.
I don't have much to go on in regards to making this comparison. I vaguely remember watching Dozier play in preseason. He didn't leave any impression on me.
Last night against the Cavaliers he reminded me a bit of Gerald Green....similar build with a shooter's mentality.
Even though he may be a two-way contract player what intrigued me more than his shooting was the way he handled the ball. In the couple times he dribbled he seemed to have above average handles. This led me to believe that this ability might translate into effectively running an offense. Possibly even driving past defenders with relative ease.
In reality he dribbled briefly. Thus, my ball-handling comment may be wishful thinking on my part. Perhaps, someone who has watched him play on the Red Claws this year or in college has a better perspective of his play.
I'm wondering, does he have potential to be a Gerald Green caliber player or better? Do they share a similar style of play? Or, am I way off base and/or comparing him to another player would be better.
