I mean Xavier McDaniel wore #31 after Maxwell and before the number was retired, so it is not entirely impossible that this could be re-visited. Still, X-Man was never thought to have the same potential that Hayward has when each signed with the Cs.

Heck, #20 may get retired based on Hayward's play. I guess it all depends on how the future plays out.

That's true, but it's worth noting that Wyc and co. have made it clear 5 and 34 are not available at this stage...

His number will never be retired here.  Anyone who thinks otherwise has a different opinion than I do.

As others have said, things could still change down the road for Ray. But given that he took half of what we offered to join the enemy to chase rings as a role player, I wouldn't be surprised if #20 neverget retired...at least not for Ray...

The X man was past his prime when he joined the C's and it was debatable if Max should have his number retired.  (still debatable to this day)
