  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I think Marcus is the one I'd really be devastated if he's gone.

He's not a popular choice I know, but AB and his durability just makes me think that as good as he is, he's not going to be worth what he's going to command. Jae has been good, but unfortunately, someone has to go with GH coming in.

Marcus could be inconsistent, but man, he does winning plays out there despite the inconsistencies. He's durable and he's probably not going to cost as much as Bradley would.

And personally, I've been a fan. It'll be hard to see any of the three go, but Marcus going would absolutely break my heart.

I agree with all of this. Marcus is also the only one of these guys out of the three who can handle the ball AND guard 4 positions at a high level - how often do guys like that come along?

If we trade away smart and then lose IT4 next summer our backcourt suddenly takes a HUGE hit.

You guys with your Marcus Smart fantasy lol! He can't guard 4 positions, he can't guard fast PGs or large PFs. He's a strong very good defender, makes good plays but he's not worth more than $10m a year. He's a guard that can't drive or shoot and unlike football in the NBA you have to play both ends of the court.

I don't like that 25% of our rotation players right now don't know if they will be on the team in a few weeks. Seems like a poor situation

Easy, long time before season starts.  Uncertainty is part of being a pro player.

Still hoping for a Crowder for Labissiere trade  ;D

I think that would be ok.

AB would be the hardest for me, but I am not loosing sleep if lose any of these guys.   I would be happy if we got back a solid four or five but I do not think the odds of that are very good.

I also think AB 's D hurts the other team more than Crowder.  Smart can affect a game with his D.   After watching Crowder trying to contain LeBron, my stock on him fell a lot.  Granted that is a nigh impossible task.   I expected more leadership out of him once IT went down not showing up that first game and scoring six points.   I figure he has to go after the criticism of fans over Hayward and he is the one guy who did not welcome him.

Philly could really use any one of these players.

If they agree to remove the #1 protection from the Lakers/Kings pick would that be enough?

I don't want to make them better (seeing AB in  PHilly uniform would make me vomit), but having a better shot at #1 in 2018 or 2019 would be huge.

Maybe, but guys like Marcus are what this team is going to need moving forward. With Hayward signing and the possible emergence of Tatum/Brown in the coming years, Smart is very useful.

I would hate to see him waste his career away on a crappy team. The bigger the moment, the more impressive he plays. And as others have said, he shouldn't be overly expensive moving forward.

Three of our better defenders and also two that show the most attitude on the court. We're losing the grit!

All that and we still sucked major on defense.
