Scenario -  Hayward stays with the Jazz. Griffin stays with the Clippers.  Trade for Butler unavailable

what about signing Waiters to a 3 year (40 million dollar deal - 13.3 million per season)

and have him be the 6th man, spot start when IT4 is injured/needs rest

Waiters looks like he finally put it together last season.

29 pts vs Cavs last season. Big shots

We don't need another guard. I never really liked him either. Yeah maybe he gets up for playing Cleveland but he should play like that against everyone. I would pass.

How about we worry about desert after we order a main course or two... and maybe an appetizer.

Even if I liked his game, I don't see where his minutes are coming from on this roster.

Hard pass.

Here's my reasons,
1.  We don't need another guard
2.  He's going to sign for more money than that
3.  Miami has already said they're going to resign him and he said he wants to play there.  Plus they have the cap space to beat any offer.
4.  He's coming off an injury prone year playing only 43 games
5. See #1

I'd renegotiate IT to a 4 year max or absorb Melo's salary into our cap space long before I'd shell out the money to sign a guy like Waiters.
I'm bitter.

Hell NO!

We don't need a guy like Waiters on this team, and there's no way he signs for less than $18m per year, or thereabouts.

In that case, I'll also object against this proposition  ;) .

no thanks.  don't need another guard, particularly one that's so underwhelming.
