Close your eyes and repick the ping pong balls, but this time it's 76ers at #1 and Celtics at #3.

Danny Ainge packages #3 and BRK18 for #1.

Describe your feelings.

After you mentally break plates, realize the kind of fleecing you just witnessed.

With #1 protection on the BRK pick? Works for me.

I usually agree with you (except on political stuff), but I think you're way off on this one.  The top 3 guys in this draft have similar potential.  Danny picked up a significant asset and lost nearly nothing.

Like..I'm ok with trading back but this is the best trade they could have done? What about 1 for 4 and right to swap with Phoneix next year? 1 for 6 and right to swap with Magic next year?

That at least assures you get a lottery pick. There's probably a 2% chance we could end up only getting a late first round pick from trading #1

I want Dallas'

- #3 for #9.
- rights to swap our 2018 pick with theirs
- if the swap didn't convey, it turns into a top 5 protected 2019 1st, top 3 in 2020, top 1 in 2021, unprotected in 2022.

Draft Donovan Mitchell at #9. Or Malik Monk. Or Jonathan Isaac.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

How is that better than what we got?

We're getting a much worse pick this year, probably a worse pick next year, and we have to give up a 2018 #1.

Edit: Nevermind, I see you're trading the #3.

I don't like it for the same reason I don't like the current trade: top-tier talent wins.

I would be furious. Next year's draft has long been the draft for us to look forward to. Much better and more appropriate talent in that draft. To have an extra shot at the top guys is fantastic.

That doesn't assure you a lottery pick, though.  It's entirely possible that the Suns (or Magic) make the playoffs next year, and I'd say that's about as likely as the pick we got from Philly turning into a non-lottery pick

i think ainge agrees with you roy. but my guess is that ainge believes fultz is not that much better than tatum, or jackson. indeed, he might even see those two as better than fultz.

this is a draft that will be very interesting to revisit in 2-3 years.

With as bad as Brooklyn is and will be this coming season....that's a trade of

Jackson/Tatum/Ball and Porter/Doncic/Ayton/Bamba......for Fultz.    Yuck!

It's so hard to evaluate because it all depends on how highly you rate Fultz, and how highly you rate the 2018 draft.

I barely have enough information to have an opinion on Fultz, I don't know a thing about Doncic/Porter/Ayton/Bamba. Ainge does, so he gets benefit of the doubt for now.
