You think Danny told Markelle his plan?

Did he say how we are giving IT the max, otherwise we would take him in a heartbeat?

He didn't make a promise to him to pick him so that is pretty honest.   We owe him nothing and the fact, that he worked out for some later teams tells me, he got the gist of it.

I really hope its not more than a 3 year max. We really shouldn't strap the franchise financially to someone who may or may not be worth a max that soon in the future.

No, I don't think Danny would disclose his plans to a player on another team.

I didn't know Danny has told you this is his plan and the reason not to take Fultz. Thanks for sharing.

Only as honest as he needed to be.  In the workout, he did point out some stuff that Markelle could do better (per Markelle himself), which I interpret as an understatement of his deficiencies.  So I agree he got the gist of it unless he is simply a naïve 19-year old (which would not be surprising).

Listening to the Locked On Celtics podcast this morning and they seem to think that all of the media around Fultz's visit to Boston (ESPN being there, Fultz saying "I feel like I belong here") was all put together by Fultz's people and Boston had nothing to do with it.

Maybe a little overconfidence on the side of Fultz and his people? Or maybe just the right amount of confidence from the guy who is still the likely #1 pick, just for a different team.

no.

why should he?

ainge could not say these things and still be honest. the two are not mutually exclusive. perhaps you meant to write "forthcoming" in the thread title?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
He told him he was worthy of being the number one pick but no promise was made that I have read anywhere. Danny has not dissed any player. I think He is now moved up on IT's list of favorite GMs.
