What about Hield plus #5 for #1?

Why?

Doesnt sound like Fultz blew dannys socks off yesterday... Already mentioned about possibly bringing him back for a 2nd workout

Danny rumored to have liked Hield...took Brown instead
Fultz doesn't need to blow GM's socks off at workouts when his college and high school body of work, in addition to his general level of skill and projected development already does.

I think you're reading into what Danny said far too much.

This is Ainge we are talking about

Of course you have to impress him

How do you think Rozier, Brown got chosen

I disagree, its a shoe in celtics pick Fultz...

Chances are good he is still the pick... But not guarantee

I recommend that no one expect Ainge to tip his hand before a draft.

I would actually have been worried if he started gushing about the Fultz visit.

Dont get this analogy

Why shouldnt he gush about Fultz?

It makes the #1 pick even more valuable then..

While you are right, triboy, that Danny is unpredictable, it has been known for months that he really liked Fultz a lot. Went to about 5 of his games to watch him play.  Scal during the trade deadline (back in February) mentioned that he "knew for a fact" that Danny "loved, loved" Fultz.  Danny has often noted how hard it is to find guys who can score on their own. Watching the tape, do you see any other guy in this draft who fits that description? For these reasons, I would be stunned, shocked, if Danny did not draft Fultz with the pick.

You got a link where Danny says he isn't enamored with Fultz and his workout. Just because Ainge wants to workout Fultz twice means nothing. Danny could have had Fultz doing pnr and pnp and shooting drills yesterday and might want to see him in defense drills in the next workout.

And again...why? Trade the #1 pick? Fultz is the concensus top talent in this draft. Why trade Fultz for two players that have significantly less chance of becoming stars?

Also, we don't need more rookie and second year players on this roster. There could be 4-5 on the team next year as is.

“I learned that his scoring average is really good against a chair,” said president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. “Good shooting percentages against a chair. High efficiency.”

“I’ve gotten phone calls from other teams,” said Ainge, “but nothing that I’m tempted by.”

“I don’t know if it’s necessary, but we may bring him back in for a workout again,” said Ainge. (Fultz)

The only reason SAC or anyone else would offer some huge deal of multiple #1s and players for our pick is because they want Fultz. Not much else needs to be said. No amount of speculation and desperately grasping at any other straw is going to change that he's the top prospect in the draft and will be a Celtic in about 2 weeks. It would take an absolutely ridiculous trade offer of picks or a player like AD for Ainge to move off Fultz.

If he negotiates with another team, he does not want anyone to know what his position is. He has always operated this way. Generally speaking, if the other side knows what your objectives are, they are in a stronger negotiating position

So basically he didn't say anything negative and you are reading stuff into it. Thats what I thought.
