and this is why trades rarely go down on draft night. GM's fall in love with their pick kind of like this forum has done.
You absolutely make this trade if you are Ainge. Zinger has a chance to be great in a position that is severely lacking depth in todays NBA. As others said he fits Stevens system perfectly..
Fultz does have potential to be great, but he creates a log jam at the guard positon which we already have. Even if Bradley is gone after next season, what happens to Smart and Rozier? Have people already forgotten about those two?
Well put, but I don't think it'd be particularly hard to move Smart or Rozier if the Celtics really needed to just to open up minutes. Both guys have shown enough that someone would be willing to take them on.
I don't think the Knicks would ever make this trade though. Porzingis is the one thing Phil Jackson has done right since becoming a GM in New York.
His stats are already pretty phenomenal and he's playing in a system that doesn't even maximize his talent in any way. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's designed to minimize one of his best abilities (the ability to shoot from long range).
Imagine Kelly Olynyk with athletic ability, a mean streak, better rebounding, no hesitation to shoot, and a career average of 2 blocks per game and that's Porzingis. He doesn't solve the rebounding problems on this team, but that's about the only thing he doesn't upgrade.
