Using Al Horford as point forward for Isaiah setting screens for Al and for starting Amir
Then not yanking Jaylen. Amir was that extra man needed in the paint.
Gortat was bewildered by  Al becoming a point center with isaiah setting screens-he was just plain
out of his element.

Great points, rollie.  It's bit unfortunate that it took Brad until Game 5 to get it right, but you can also argue he was trying to mix it up and confuse the Wizards with the small ball starting lineup.  It obviously didn't work but equally the Wiz may have gotten confused with Amir back in.

Regarding our point-forward, Al is just a really good player and using him this way (including shooting three's from that position) makes it a difficult matchup for Wiz.

Good points!

Al Horford is a really good player.  And he's special when he's put in that facilitator role.

Capital letters and periods?!?   Must be feeling better, Rollie!  TP for the insights.

I also thought having IT setting all those screeens was a masterstroke.    Beal was so intent to staying on IT's body that Al was getting any look he wanted.  And IT got to lag some wood!  Great coaching job on a day when it seemed the entire CB was second guessing him.

Good on Brad for the adjustments. He is a great coach, and I'm glad he is on our side. Danny Ainge deserves some credit for picking Stevens out of thin air.

However, Al Horford deserves the real credit for performing in that position. He was a beast last night, he makes the right decision with the ball in his hands every time. He was also hitting shots, which is the most important thing. If he is hitting shots in game 6, then we will be in good shape.

Yep, the game plan was really sound. CBS did well.

The ball movement really had the Wizards moving side to side, and playing on their heals. IT was almost a decoy, while helping to facilitate for his team. Still he scored 18, all within the flow of the game.

The ball in Horford's hands either resulted in him scoring one on one, or him finding the open man. He and Bradley, and don't forget Smart, and the rebounds and assists he got... each played great games.

I still get scared seeing IT have so much difficulty even getting his hands om the ball, but as long as they're hitting open shots as a result all is well.  It's when AB and company are shooting bricks that it all falls apart.

Horford was amazing last night.  The point center!
