This comes from the Lakers SBNation site, Silver Screen & Roll.

http://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2017/5/7/15576782/la-lakers-trade-rumors-lakers-reportedly-expected-to-offer-multiple-young-pieces-for-paul-george

The quote in the article originated from a Zach Lowe piece at ESPN:

I know some here are big fans of George's, so I figured this deserved a new topic.

So we might get to see the Warriors sweep the Lakers in the first round every year for the next 10 years?

I can deal with that.

Get out the treadmill, Magic!

Clarkson and Nance are multiple young pieces.  Without actual names this is a nothing story.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Lakers would be a FA destination again if Paul George was already there.

Makes no sense.  Why give up young pieces for George now when you can wait a year and get him then?

They're not going to get anywhere next year if they trade young pieces for George, anyway.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

If they have to give up the 2017 pick, and Clarkson/DeAngelo I could imagine them going after Kyle Lowry in free agency. Brandon Ingram is almost a lock to be part of this deal.

It would be pretty ironic if DeMar DeRozan stayed in Toronto and Kyle Lowry was the one that ended up in LA, given that everyone had Derozan pegged to go back home to L.A. in free agency.

I don't see George voluntarily joining that dumpster fire.

Just like Westbrook, Aldridge, and Durant.

If he's a free agent he probably goes the Aldridge/Durant route and "shocks" the media by shunning the Lakers yet again and joining a contender.

The only way they get him  IMO is via trade and a 5-year max extension.

Which means the Lakers will have to outbid other organizations to acquire him, gutting their feeble young stable in the process.

There's a reason why Magic doesn't consider any of the young Lakers players as untradeable, and that's because their not going to be great players. The only asset of value they have is Brandon Ingram, and he is probably another 3 or so years away from contributing to a playoff caliber team. Depending on how the ping pong balls fall, the Lakers may or may not have a lottery pick this year.

Maybe I missed it, but other than Shaq in 1996, what other in their prime free agents have signed with the Lakers? I can only think of some bench players and end-of-their-career ring chasers.

Right. "Dangle multiple prospects" means close to zero.
