Dealing with the recent death of his sister and the fact that it was her birthday. Just put the team on his shoulders and carried us, regardless of what else was going on in his life. A true superstar move.

It will be well covered in the documentary made after IT4 carries the Celtics to banner #18

The performance itself was truly one for ages. It was as spectacular a playoff performance as we've had in the last decade.

But, when considering what IT was dealing with, between everything with his sister (from the funeral just days ago to her birthday yesterday) and the fact that he spent hours in surgery the day before and several more with doctors the day of, that makes this a legendary performance in my eyes.

Okay, Mr. Hoiberg  ;)

But, yeah, IT was other-worldly last night. I am not sure it is the same thing as barely being able to sit up right and then dominating a playoff game, but the emotional sentiment and clutch factor certainly makes it a historic performance.

Huge. With teeth falling out and busting to face on the parquet. Mammoth.

It's amazing what kind of company IT has placed himself in. If you look at all those top scoring playoff games it's all hall of famers! Kobe and Dirk's tops was 50. IT is so incredible and we are so lucky to have this guy playing for the Celtics.

That was 20X more impressive than MJ's flu game based on circumstances alone.

And holy cow, Isaiah Thomas!

I was in the Garden for game 2 (my first time seeing Isaiah play in person- thanks to CBer Jason!), and that man literally wills his way to points. It's one of the craziest things I've ever seen. Every drive he makes is like a running back hitting a hole. I have no idea how he has enough energy to throw the ball up to the rim with some of the hits he takes every time he goes to the basket.

I need to take a couple days off from the blog because of a full blown, unhealthy obsession with IT.  He's like the Bonnie to my Clyde, Bagel to my Coffee, etc.

I was at the game last night in a suite and got to take a pic with the 86 trophy. I still can't believe what I witnessed. That being said, the Cs have to win this series for it to become flu game status.

Was part of the Bulls' playoff gameplan is to hide Jordan on defense or let him get exposed. Also, The Flu game took place against a great Jazz team in the Finals.

It was a great game and performance. But MJ status? Jordan had PIPPEN. Honestly, what would happen if IT was not the only scorer on this team? His stats may not be so padded. Avery, Crowder, Horford, and etc are the perfect type of players (not adept scorers but dynamic players that can score in an offensive system)for IT's stats to flourish.
