I realize people have probably already seen this headline, but I thought it deserved its own thread.

The obvious implication for the Celtics is that the Cavs stink without Lebron (they got whacked by the Bulls in their first game after the strep throat announcement). Right now we're 3 games back for the #1 seed, and they play us in Boston on Wednesday.

The other thing, if you'll indulge me... This is perfect timing for Lebron's annual mysterious stretch of time off in the middle of the season. I started this thread a while back on this topic:

My prediction: He takes a chunk of time off to recover, then comes back completely rejuvenated for the last third of the regular season and the playoffs and looks like the MVP of the league. Bonus points if he is actually spotted in Miami during his recovery.

Yup I have been telling people the same thing. LeBron's biweek is coming and Love is out so C's could catch up and hold the 1 seed for a week or so.

That time of the yr when he climbs the himalayas for some drink of whatever the monks drink there to extend their prime...I mean cmon look at lebron at 32 yrs old and still playing with an athleticism better than Jaylen Brown.

Hope we get to overcome their 3game lead soon.

I think if we catch them we'll keep first.  The Cavs don't care enough about home court because they get all the calls on the road too.  They have enough of a lead that they won't risk falling to third.

But I'd love to get the #1 seed.  Besides the obvious home-court through the ECF, I think the 4/5 matchup will be Washington vs. Atlanta.  Atlanta would be my preferred second round opponent of all the teams in the top 5, and that seeding gives us a decent shot to face them.

Not fond of , lets try to pull ahead of the race while your best opponent is 'unable'

I would like the Celts to face the competition head on

TP, Ed.

I think that Ponce de Leon really did find what he was looking for in FLA, and Bron Bron somehow found it too.

Maybe he will be spotted somewhere in Florida:

PEDdalling around on a bike, or maybe just being a
PEDestrian on the streets of South Beach using typical human
biPEDal locomotion, or maybe just waiting for more people to put him on a
PEDestal, or maybe he'll rent a
moPED or fly around like a
caPED superhero that some think he is. If you are lucky enough to talk to him, maybe he'll be
PEDantic and continue to moan about needing more help like Bogut and DWill.

But all that is silly, because there will be no proof that any of that ever happened, even if it did. And if you don't have concrete proof, it never could have happened , right?
