Question for our salary guru. Say we land the number one pick in the draft. Does this still leave us enough room for max fa next year?

No.  We'd be about $2 million short.

YES, and I know absolutely nothing about the salary cap rules.

Edit: I was wrong  lol.

Salt so what do we do if we get number 1 pick, and want to sign another max?

Make some minor trades (sending away Yab, dumping Jackson).  Nothing terribly difficult.

Or make a larger trade if the max player being signed will replace someone under contract -- for example, if it's Hayward, I could see Bradley being moved.

at some point a decision is going to have to be made whether Cs are willing to pay IT, right?

Sorta.  At some point the decision will have to be made about which of IT, Bradley, and Smart get paid.  However, if we strike out in free agency, we could have the ability to extend all three this summer.
