IMO if we get lucky enough to hit a top two pick in the years draft, Ainge is shopping it aggressively to Sacramento for Cousins. Given that the best two players are attacking point guards we won't be keeping them. If Danny believes Thomas is his guy, you don't sit The Number 1 or 2 pick on the bench and play them sparingly for 2-3 season. Neither is slightly defensive minded so they can't play beside I.T who needs his weakness compensated for just as Harden, Kobe ect.

I can see no better rebuild scenario for the Kings then trading Cousins for Lonzo Ball a Cali kid who is flamboyant, even if he isn't the best guy in the draft...it doesn't write better than that.

Unless George suddenly becomes available (which i can't see happening) Cousins is our best shot, and if the last game against GSW is anything to go by he may be Warriors kryptonite. I don't even think we would need to throw in the 18 Brooklyn pick as the Love-Wiggins trade is pretty comparable, with Bennett being a throw in.

No, he isn't.

That's pretty logical.

But I'm not confident that the Sac ownership is smart enough to do it.

Not enough to get Cousins, that would be just a start.

At the time of the Wiggins trade he was perceived as a generational talent and Love was playing at at top 10 level.

It's a fairly similar situation

First of all you show the exact reason that a top pick isn't worth what you're suggesting.  Wiggins hasn't turned in to any where near the player some suggested.  BTW I don't remember Wiggins being considered a generational talent, there were real doubts about him having the type A personality to be that good.  Which so far has turned out to be true.   Also Cousins is the top center in the league and isn't going to be traded for that little.

Wiggins was not considered a generational type talent, but he was considered above average for a #1 pick.  Generational, IMO, is once every five years or so.  Wiggins was once every 2-3 year level of prospect.  He's been a bit disappointing.  He has the ability to be a terrific defender, and he's mediocre at best. In college, he seemed to reliably play with effort on defense, I don't know why he hasn't in the pros.

Fultz is probably a shade better as a prospect than Wiggins in my opinion, but not too much.  He's not Anthony Davis level.  But again, I think Wiggins has underachieved.

If im to be honest,  I don't see what the big deal is about Fultz.  He doesn't look like anything resembling a generational talent to me.   Doesnt even look to me like a guy with superstar potential.

Looks to be like the PG equivalent of Al Horford - jack of all trades, master of none.   Granted I  haven't seen THAT much of him,  but what I have seen really hasn't impressed me much at all.

Given a chance to  trade that pick for an established star, I wouldn't hesitate at all.

I just don't see anybody in the draft who looks like they would change the fortunes of this team in the next 2-4 years.  I dont see an Anthony Davis, Kevin Garnett or Lebron James in this draft.

As far as I can remember the 2014 draft class had the same if not higher hype than 2017. You can't judge their past draft value based on performance today. Andrew "The Ender" Wiggins was definitely considered a generation talent, along with Parker and Embiid. Wiggins was compared with Kobe/Tmac, Parker was compared with Grant Hill/Melo, I remember there was a post on this forum talking about how much better Parker was compared to Melo in his freshman year. And there's Dante Exum people think who's going to turn to Penny Hardway, Aaron Gordon was often compared with Blake Griffin. The No.1 was going to be either Wiggins, Parker or Embiid, probably Embiid if he hasn't got injured before the draft.

So I agree one 2017 No.1 pick should be enough to get Cousins, you definitely need to throw in something more valuable then Anthony Bennet because Cousins is  probably considered a better player than Love then, even though they both come off an all nba 2nd team season.

Draft Fultz or Jackson, sign Noel.

How many times have you posted the same thing?

If Cousins can agree to do a sign and trade and the Kings manage to keep their pick then I can see us doing a cool deal here where both BKN picks go out for Cousins and their #10 pick, which could be a nice player like Jayson Tatum or Lauri Markkanen. I don't think you guys on here know more about this draft than the pundits, and they seem pretty stoked as opposed to previous years so I don't think we should block out the idea of drafting a player entirely out of our heads since DMC hasn't really been making the best case for "leader of the franchise"; we're taking a gamble, IDK why it only has be ONE gamble though.

We're just going to need to get the salaries together to match that inevitable 40 million/a year for 5 years offer sheet the DMC will get. I don't see Kings moving Cousins before seeing where that pick lands and to make a trade work by then Danny will most surely have to accept Amir's team option, and there's a real risk of Amir sticking around next season if Kings don't like where the pick lands or have more interest in building around Cousins then say, whoever is left on the board at #2.
