Remember when it was debatable on who was better between Rozier and RJ.

That's pretty funny looking back now.

It shows that a lot around here have a lack of faith in the process. I would love to go back to the draft threads in June to see how many people were crushing Jaylen Brown too. With Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, and Isaiah Thomas, did we really need Dunn more than JB?

Rozier looks to have every tool necessary to be a solid starting pg in this league. He is a complete player, or close to it for a guy who hasn't played that much. RJ looks like he has one NBA skill. I can't think that he will emerge as more than a role player in the NBA.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

to be fair, if you can get a role player with the  28th pick, you're lucky.

What bothers me about Hunter is he shoots the 3 from the hip. I haven't seen that before. I would think that puts him at a disadvantage against tall 2s and 3s. He does pass well, but he doesn't do enough other things like Rozier to stick.

He has an extremely quick release, that's why you don't see it getting stuffed. But I agree, it looks a little odd. He uses the hop, but then shoots it like a set shot. He has a stroke, but unlike Jaylen he doesn't have the speed to create his own shot, nor the speed to come off picks (a la Ray Ray) so he is going to have to rely on Stevens system to get him open looks. Right now he is a 3 and D mold... with no D.... and a questionable 3.

Remember when people were literally BOOing the Rozier pick? Remember when New Yorkers BOOed the Porzingis pick? I guess NBA fans don't know a [dang]ed thing about basketball.

I remember telling myself "it's ok, if RJ was the 16th pick and Terry was the 28th pick, this would have been a great draft"
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

a big difference between the two is defense.  If RJ had the same defensive level we would be jumping frantically onto his bandwagon just like how we've managed to find ourselves viewing Rozier.  So if Hunter can improve into the average defender like KO has then He will become that secondary ballhandler for the second unit
