There's not a lot here that Celtic fans don't already know and, partly, I kind of like that we have a coach and a GM who keep things professional and don't feel the need to shoot their mouths off to the media.

One thing I loved about the piece, though, is the stuff that Wyc says about not caring about money too much and really caring about championships. I think there was a real, palpable change in the team when his group bought the Celtics in 2002 that put them on the right path. I basically started watching the Celtics in 2001 so older fans will be able to speak to this better than I, but I know most fans aren't as lucky to have owners like this.
1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008, 2024

Definitely. You can't underestimate the effect that ownership has had on the success of this franchise. They are not only willing to spend when worthwhile, they have hired and retained the right basketball personnel and keep themselves out enough of basketball decisions.

They are clearly Celtics fans first and foremost and it shows, and it has had a minor impact in how well the team is run in comparison to the previous ownership group.
