Amir and Jonas look like extremely valuable  veteran pieces this season. I continue to applaud Danny for signing them at such a tremenous value. Imagine if we didnt have them and we were sifting through the low end FA market for bigs. We simply would not be in the top 3 ECF discussion and we may not be able to sign Horford.

I know its early but I think  we must get them extended ASAP. Can we afford to keep them both and should we? Will we be able to wait to see if a big name FA big becomes available before we sign them?

Yea, Jonas adds depth and he seems to really encourage the young guys, just look at him on the bench after one of our younger players gets a bucket. Amir isnt a stat guy, reminds me of the chief robert parish just does his job doesnt demand shots really just does the dirty work, a valuable piece alright.

There's no way Ainge is sacrificing cap space next year to extend either one.  And depending on how well KO plays and if Jaylen can play the three with Crowder at the four in small lineups, Jonas could be prime trade bait at the deadline.

Keeping both was a no-brainer after we were unable to land Durant. Ainge did a great job with those contracts last year giving us the team option (and then extending the period to pick up those options while Durant was deciding).

If we are unable to bring in a top-flight FA next year, I can easily see Ainge overpaying for one or both of them next year. Since we don't have their Bird rights, we will be limited by the cap, but we will have so much space that it won't really matter. I do believe Ainge will do everything in his power to bring in an upgrade in talent, though.

Crossing my fingers on an upgrade trade deadline trade in which a combination, or all, of Amir/Zeller/Jerebko are gone.

Yeah I  thought about the 25 million that comes of the books from those three next year. Still we almost have to resign Amir for bigman depth even with Olynyk and Horford. Only way we dont is if Zizic really turns heads in camp or we sign a FA big thats an upgrade. Then we may go for Jerebko  because he will be cheaper.
