I'd rather have Dave Cowens come back out of retirement.

I thought Ray was high class until he left here and became a jerk airing it all out and turning less pay to go to MIA.   So no, I do not think we should welcome him back into the fold.

TP...completely agree.

I will be shocked if his # is retired here.

I have no doubt that KG feels the same and wouldn't be surprised if PP did too.

This from PP's statements on Durant that Draymond panned:

Quote
I understand when you have great players who are on losing teams who are tired of losing, struggling in the playoffs every year. You're the lone star. I've been in that position. I could have left Boston years ago but I stuck it out. And I just feel like when you're that close as a competitor, you don't go join a team that just pushed you out (of the playoffs)

Pierce's position and sentiments are pretty clear here, and if he believes them in regard to Durant, he sure as helll believes them regarding Judas.

Judas' apologists will argue that that we (the Cs) weren't as close to the cHeat as the Thunder were to the Warriors, so Pierce's statement doesn't apply to him. Just rationalizations. He doesn't deserve to wear the Green again. (Maybe Bucks green, but certainly not C's Green.)
Completely unfair to compare Ray to Durant. OKC never shopped Durant. They never told Durant he had been traded only to tell him later the trade fell through.
Disagree.  One has little to do with the other.  Paul Pierce had to endure trade rumors.  Celtics almost traded him for Chris Paul.  If this is why he went to the front-runner that just beat him, then he lacks professional maturity.  In addition, his decision set the stage for Durant's decision.

If dave would scream at refs for what were soft fouls then i can only imagine he would knock them out now

1:15. Mentioned he talked to Danny Ainge about the possibility of returning. Thoughts?

A month ago, I probabably would have been open to the idea to be honest.

But watching this team play, I'm loving everything I'm seeing from Isaiah, AB, Crowder, Rozier, Smart, Green and Brown.  The way those guys are playing they all deserve major minutes, and it'll be impossible for all of them to get it, and I'm seriously struggling to decide who out of that group I would be most comfortable not playing - they're all too good to waste away on the end of the bench.

If we brought Ray back I'm sure he'd expect a significant role, which means putting taking minutes away from that group of guys I'm already struggling to take minutes from.

Plus we have to trip down the roster, meaning only one of Young/Hunter/Mickey/Jackson can stay.  Right now my preference is Mickey, followed by Jackson (I like the explosiveness and hustle he brings).  If we add Ray, then we can't really keep any of those guys, which I think is a waste.  Mickey in particular has potential to be a really solid player, as does Demitrius Jackson IMHO.

So for now, I think I'd have to respectfully decline. I'd feel bad about it, but why give up on the good thing we already have?
