Of the players we have stashed away, who do you think will be first to see time in the NBA?
(Yabu, Zizic, Bentil, Nader)

I thought Nader played good enough in summer league to get the last spot, or at least first look. At least as well as Jackson, or I feel played better. I think he'll get called up quickly if he continues to show what he showed in Summer League. He looks like he'll be a solid scorer quickly.

Bentil IMO played scattered minutes after the first few summer games where he showed pretty well.
I saw Bentil in Providence several times, he's talented, and tough, he led the Big East in scoring. I hope he doesn't fall through the cracks.

Yabu was solid at times, but eventually kind of petered out. Frankly he looked unready. And in need of conditioning.

Zizic is a player we eventually could use, but at this point, because he didn't play summer league at all, is just a young question-mark.

I think itll be Zizic. we need size, and not sure if Zeller/Amir/Kelly will all be back next year. He will probably be getting some decent time next year.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I wonder how the ten day contract thing works for a guy like Nader.

I think Zizic will be the first one to play for the Celtics. Bentil could get signed by another team to a 10-day deal in January, though, as Eja alluded to.

Thinking about the same thing.  Seems like a 10-day NBA contract means his d-league contract gets nullified.  That in turn means he has to sign another 10-day (or a full season deal) to stay around.  Can he re-sign with the d-league after 10 days?  What happens to the C's rights?  Also seems like there is a risk that if you don't resign him after the 1st 10-day contract, that another team could sign him.

Let's say a team wants him out of the D League. Or we do. Does he HAVE to sign the 10 day and then does that affect our rights and whatnot?

Now that I think about it the 10 day thing must be for guys that are free agents, right? Like I can't remember a single instance of a team signing another guy's player from the D League to a 10 day. Nobody signed Heustis for example. Otherwise teams would sign each other's guys all the time.

he is now stashed and celt hold his draft rights-nader will have to really light it up from three-he looked in summer league to be a really good compliment player  that takes what is given-depending when chinese season ends maybe yabusele but we will need a roster spot-to open that up celts will need a trade or aplayer on inactive list-if nader signs a 10 day contract i think that if 2nd 10 day contract isn't renewed he becomes waived and a free agent

Yeah, Bentil will be a free agent, because I think he signed an NBA contract and will be waived. Nader has never be signed and waived, so we retain his rights.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Bentil is not a stashed player.  He signed a partially guaranteed contract with us so if we cut him altogether in camp we lose his rights.

To say which stashed player will be first to play for the Celts is tough.  We already have have to cut 2 players as is by the end of camp.  I'm guessing Young and Bentil will be cut as of now if no trade happens (Jackson didn't really impress me all that much in summer league too). We would then still have a full 15 man roster with no room for either of those 3 stashed players.  There would have to be further consolidation trades throughout the year to give any of these guys a chance.  Not to mention we have the Nets pick next year along with all that cap space which further clouds roster space.

Even though it's only summer league I will say after Rozier I liked Yabu and Nader the next best. I think they will have to be patient along with Zicic for now, but under pressure if I had to say 1 it would be Nader only because he will be playing in the D league and not overseas, and can easily be put on the roster.

Edit: just saw Roy explaining Bentil's status.

Yup, any player that has their rights with an NBA team is ineligible for a 10 day contract, except with the team who has his rights (in this case, the Celtics)

We won't sign him to one, though, because that would use up his rights, and using up rights for a 10 day contract is like throwing them away. If we sign him this year (which is unlikely), it would be for the rest of the season and a couple more (non-guaranteed) years
I'm bitter.

TP, exactly what I was speculating above.  There would have to be a major injury or trade to justify use of a real roster spot on Nader.
