brad is getting attention from everywhere, players, coaches announcers and analysts
isaiah first time all star with a inside game at 5-9 and a infectious personality
patriots  brady, belinchk, championship boxers are showing the celts appeal
horford and amir are loved by fans in atlanta and montreal
avery best guard defender ,smart and his aggression and chrowder make for a heck of a defense without even a rim protector but a 7foot 3 point shooter that drives to the hoop
knocking off san francisco and cleveland endeared fans to the celts story last season
-grit hustle defense and pace with heroic comebacks and, turnarounds by cast off players, overachievement without super stars
now 22 tv appearances and christmas day
curry and crew with addition of durant may drive off fans around country to start rooting for scrappy boston
we got a high flying rookie and a ex dunk champ for highlites
a top 20 player that makes everyone better and amir
-now isaiah doesn't have shoulder the burden and will have an elite pick and roll partner and a spaced court to use his change of pace and direction against the bigs
and transition with green and jaylen should be electric
next season yabusele and zizic will bring european fans
-good time to own this celtics franchise
 right wyc

I agree, this is the first team in a long long time that the Celtics had to build from scratch, and it is exciting seeing the growth of this team. Danny was able to get a team with absolutely nothing into something in a matter of 3 short years, I think that is a very great achievement in my opinion, most team tank a year or two before starting making any noise. It will be interesting to see how the 4th year pans out. Expectation across the nation is sky high, we know Danny is an excellent trader but we have yet seen how well Danny drafts in the lottery (to this day I still defend him that he only really drafted in the top 6 twice, I didn't count Jeff Green, Smart and Brown are the ones he really had to pick for his team).

There are folks out there who will never like the celtics just because they are the celtics. Remember the ESPN reporter who got in trouble for saying that "rooting for the Celtics is like rooting for Hitler?" An over the top statement, no doubt. But there are a lot of people out there who feel that way. Any team, in any sport, with the most titles will be looked upon with envy and grudgingness by other fans. Like it would be nearly impossible to root for the Yankees even if they were a team replete with strong character and morally upstanding players - just becuase they are the Yankees. The only way the Celtics will gain support across the nation is if they face the Warriors in the finals (not that unlikely of a scenario!!!). Way more people hate the Warriors than the Celtics right now because of the whole KD fiasco. And it's easy for people to get behind a real TEAM opposed to a group with 3 or 4 stars and the rest dirt players.

in my opinion, when your most hated rivals the Lakers, and their fans are raving about the Celtics development and how some wish their management was like ours...you know you did something right on your end :)

I had a long post but lost computer connection and it was lost.

My conclusion was 61 wins but I'm too tired and annoyed that happened to try to rewrite it.

I think Horford has been getting a lot of pomp and circumstance, but Amir could have healed feet. SI just placed him at #86 for best NBA players.

Someone here predicted we could have five guys in the top 100. That means if any team could duplicate the Pistons winning it all with good but not great stars, it is the Celtics.

I wonder if by chance Marcus Smart can return and shoots 50% on two's and 35% on three's.

That is my pipe dream. That is the kind of possibility I am intrigued by, the kind where other people will ask me to share whatever it is I'm smoking. Amir finds the fountain of youth. It's gotta be Amir and Al unless Olynyk says with his play to be handed the keys to rotation influence.

Oh, I also wondered if maybe we already had Horford last year, say we were a year ahead of schedule, maybe we would have signed Durant and become the favorite to win it all.

I cannot not see us winning it all again sooner rather than later. Unless Danny makes an epic GM error, we are sitting pretty, pretty good.

There are Celtics fans everywhere now folks.   I a Celtics fan and I live in Ohio and people come all the time and tell me they like the Celtics's or did back in the day mostly Bird era.  For a lot of people they are folks second favorite team I talk too, the exception being Fakers Fans which are everywhere too.

I was in the Army and was stationed in NJ, Texas, OK, and KY and I found the above to be true.

Too bad about your lost connection, that can be frustrating.

If all these best-case scenarios you mentioned actually pan out, I think 61 wins is a possibility, but don't think it's too likely.  I would put them at 55 wins right now.

I see no update on Amir's plantar fasciitis. I will assume that has healed.

Olynyk will be at 100%.

Smart is good at shooting free throws. We will find out soon if he has practiced enough to shoot jumpers at an average or better rate.

It is a tricky topic. Rondo got better at shooting jumpers, but his free throw % got even worse.

Maybe Smart has never worked at shooting? It is a little bit confusing.
